In the book, Watney says:
“Tell the crew I’m alive! What the fuck is wrong with you?”
After being yelled at by Kapoor, he says
“Look! A pair of boobs! -> ( . Y . )”

I love Sean Bean's reaction. Like "I told you assholes that we should've told the crew. Now look what's happening."

Nasa: "Watch your language"

Guy injured, stranded and Macgyvering the fuck out of mars: "you've chosen death"

1:19 My theatre erupted in laughter from this point on in the clip. To be fair, the man of the hour has, in short order, been injured, left for dead, stranded, had to engineer a makeshift farm and living quarters, and been told the crew isn't aware that he is alive. 'Watch your language' is probably the last straw.

“The whole world is watching”
So is all of mars 😂

1:55 The face he makes after he’s been told the world’s watching kills me every time.

He’s like: *“Wut u gonna do, leave me stranded on a desolate planet?”* or *“You’re so gonna regret telling me that.”*

God, I love the human race. Mark's "WTF?!" is totally muted-- no censor, no bleep, no sound at all, and yet every single person who watched the movie would have IMMEDIATELY known what he'd just said. It's brilliant!

Mark had every right to be mad at them. He's stuck on Mars, escaping certain death is just a normal Tuesday for him and he's stayed calm through this whole experience. Him swearing at NASA is a completely normal, human temper. Even if you can barely call him a human now.

I love that shot of Mitch (Sean Bean) laughing because he's totally the only character you'd expect to be laughing.

Don't you love how they sum 20 min message sessions into 10x speed.

I'm really glad Mark threw in the word felcher.

Should have added the next 20-30 seconds of this scene😂😂
“What’s a feltcher?”
SB: “I didn’t know either so I looked it up in the dictionary. Don’t!”😂😂😂

Love this scene. After everything he's been through at this point, you couldn't blame Captain America for swearing up a storm

Wong's innocent comment "What's a felcher?" is what makes the scene.

"What's a feltcher." At least Matt was creative in his cursing

just found out that there was a party in the script where Teddy says "I just had to explain to The President what a "bureaucratic felcher" is. and there is a blooper where Teddy explains it to Annie and half the scene is censored

I love how NASA has the smartest people on the planet on their team yet can't seem to understand how telling an astronaut that's stranded and alone on Mars to not curse is not really going to elicit a more friendly response. 🤣

In an early version of the script they do tell the audience what he said at the last part.

-TEDDY (INTO PHONE): Yes sir... he's under a tremendous amount of stress... I understand. We're working on it. Thank you, sir.
-Teddy hangs up. Glances at Mitch.
-TEDDY (CONT'D): I just had to explain to the President of the United States what a “bureaucratic felcher” is.
