The Martian 4K HDR | Rescued - 2160p 10bit HDR 7.1 Atmos
During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive. Millions of miles away, NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring "the Martian" home, while his crewmates concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible, rescue mission. As these stories of incredible bravery unfold, the world comes together to root for Watney's safe return.

I love that this film features no villians, just an incredible survival story and a unified determination to save a life. Its a great film - very uplifting and beautifully made.

I love this film and I love the fact that Sean Bean didn't randomly drop dead from a heart attack while celebrating. He has a 98% fatality rate in his movies and TV shows.

The part I liked about this movie was how Mark's survival instincts kicked in. The kind of risk he was willing to take knowing certain death was the only alternative.

No matter how many times I watch this

I always get chills and teary eyed when Captain Lewis says “I got him” and then when they communicate to everyone “We got him! Watney is secured”

Such an amazing scene 👏👏

The best part about this scene was how the entire world was shown to celebrate Mark's rescue as one.

In the end, it was never about rescuing one man, it was about mankind's victory over the uncaring infinite void.

The thing that scared me about this is what if they missed him and he just kept on spinning in space until he dies

I loved the physics of the tether, and how ultimately his goal once grabbing it was to get himself as tangled as possible.

A part of me wishes we could see the whole ‘him reuniting with his friends and returning to earth’ but I’m delighted at the ending regardless

One of my favourite sci-fi movies. Mostly due to how close to reality it is, compared to other sci-fi and how much personality every characters, especially Mark Whatney have.
Ridley Scott did not dissapoint.

I love it, just for a few minutes the world celebrated as one

Astronauts have described gazing into the depths of space from orbit as like nothing that can be imagined from earth. The palpable sense of eternity is enough to make every hair on the back of your neck stand on end. Watching this, and imagining the worst case scenario of the crew failing to retrieve Watney, the thought of spiralling helplessly into that void is unthinkable.

I remember watching this film in theaters with teary eyes during this scene. I know this movie is a work of fiction but it was incredible to see humans cooperaing on a global scale to bring one man home. Imagine the leaps we could take if we all thought like this more.

Wasn't until the eighth or ninth time I watched this that I noticed that Mark is only reaching out with one hand when he reaches the airlock; he's got the other hand tightly clenched to keep the air from escaping the hole he made in his glove and spinning him around. Nice attention to detail.

4:39 notice Sebastian Stan is never shown in the same frame as any of the other actors in this scene. He probably had scheduling conflicts for shooting with everyone else

I think the most amazing part of this rescue is when the commander says "hold on Mark". It made me feel how determined she was to save him, giving him more hope and allowing the viewer to think, wow, this might actually work out OK. Brilliant film, great actors and kudos to Ridley Scott.
