Donna, this IS Gorgeous! This is the perfect "between" quilt project ("between" project = something fun, creative, break the rules, colorful and new-skill-type project. Donna, you and Matt are the best! This leaf runner looks like a fun project…I’m going to give it a go for my 90 year old neighbor who has made many a quilt in her lifetime.

I really like this table runner. The last time I appliqued anything was about 50 years ago and when I was finished with it, I swore I would never do applique again! That project was a Dresden Plate lap quilt and I did the applique by hand. It turned out very well, but I did NOT enjoy doing it. After that project, I kept that promise to myself and have not ever done applique again. But after watching this video, I'm going to break that promise! I believe that one of the things that will make the applique easier to do is the addition of paper on the bottom to stabilize the blocks. I have a couple of other projects to finish first, plus a quilt show and 2 weddings to attend, so this will be a nice winter project for me. As always, thank you so much Donna and family!
