Shout our @bradley_blair_osteopath for the opening stitched video, @dynamicdiscdesigns_3dmodels for the amazing model I show of the disc and its components & @backfitpro from whom I have learned so much about spine biomechanics and rehabilitation techniques.

My problem is when I get up in the morning my back is rather tight when bending over even doing light stretches

This was very informative, but I got CHILLS from looking at the spine models. Even when it's simply showing a healthy disc, bro, imagine something directly touching the nucleus

Yes, I've had a 100% recovery from herniated L5/S1 and L4/L5 discs. Vertebrae bone on bone, herniation pinching my spinal cord, and sciatica pain so extreme I could no longer walk more than 50 yards, and with a cane. I went a year ago to the Spine Connection in Germany, Dr. Bernd Illerhaus. From my research, I determined they were the most experienced surgical team in the world for artificial disc replacements, which is what I did. Complete discectomy with new artificial, titanium discs put in. They are motion preserving, meaning they flex and twist like a normal disc. I live a complete and pain free life again. Six months after my surgery I hiked the Grand Canyon and had zero pain. I lift weights again and wrestle with my son and hike regularly. I absolutely recommend this surgery as an option for people who have tried all other conservative options with no results. This surgery has been life changing.

This is very true. To anyone that has back issues; If your health personell talks about slipped disks, take your business elsewhere because they are not knowing what they are talking about. That said, I disagree that laying on your stomach necessarily gives a patient relief. Leaning forward will open up the space between where the nerves resides behind the disks. If you see old people at the shopping mall walking around in a leaned forward position, that is often because that is what gives them relief for their back pain, while standing straight up increases it.

I will always remember the training on manual handling and heavy lifting and to "keep the jam in the doughnuts" 😅

A video about compressed nerves in the lower spine and how to alleviate the pain would be great, also. Compressed nerves and bulging discs seem to be the two major, chronically super painful back problems that folks often get.

Laying on my stomach makes my back hurt. What is causing that pain?

I've been sort of training with lifts targeting back, while actually allowing some curvature. If done correctly, it can strengthen the weaker parts of the back as well as the spinal column. BUT, I've been lifting for a few years and have become in tune with my body. Doesn't have to be heavy or even with weights. Even the lower back, is good to target and train. It will benefit your everyday living, and not just lifting. I don't suggest it to people just starting out, but it's something we should all think about

Can you do a video on spondy and what to do about it?

What about spondylolysis? Doctors say either get a surgery or live with pain

Is it fixable?

And if so, what fixes it?

I have disc bulge L4-L5 and L5-S1 from 2 years... Doctor told me either build a strong core or go for surgery. I going to the gym from last six month. It showed improvement but sometimes it hard to cop up with back pain.

That's great and all, but is there a fix? Because now I'm scared shitless.
