Not smart enough for nursing school? That's one of the biggest fears that people have before applying to nursing school. It could even hold you back from achieving your dream of becoming a nurse.

Here's the truth: nursing school can definitely be challenging. There are some courses you will probably find difficult. However, the hardest part, in my opinion, was not so much the content.

The hardest part for me was finding the time and energy to accomplish it all and manage my time wisely. But that's also good news, because you can learn to manage your time and adapt to those things.

Many nurses working today had the same fear of nursing school, but they pursued it and gave it their best shot. Guess what? Today they are working as nurses.

Don't let your fears hold you back from nursing school. You might find out that you are much smarter than you thought!

I feel that if you’re passionate but feel inadequate. You will be by far one of the best nurses out there.

I just graduated and if I can do it you all can do it. I come from nothing. Immigrant grandparents, high school drop out parents, just a ghetto girl from a ghetto side of town but I wanted this BAD. It took me 7 years but I did it. I didn't give up. I was persistent and put in the work. Just started my first nursing job. 🥳

True story, I didn't think I could do it. I was a CNA and some of the nurses I assisted discouraged me and said they didn't think I could. I went. I graduated valedictorian and took over the job of the most discouraging nurse, as she was retiring. She had ti train me for her job. You can do it!

Med School is not for the intelligent, it is for the hardworking and humble ones.

After struggling through traditional college for 6-7 years, I was in nursing school-two year ASN track at 23 and flunked out after personal stress and financial issues. I put on a brave face, but, I felt buried everyday. Before getting into this particular program, I brought my gpa up from a 2.5 to 3.4 in 2-3 semesters. I worked, lived with a verbally abusive family member, who was having their own health problems, a dying uncle who meant the world to me, a mother who was injured and relied on me to help with my teenage brother and no means to study in silence or in groups when I needed to. After failing, I never really left the house for 4 years after. I slept, watch anime or C or kdramas. I buried myself. It wasn’t just depression, it was burnout. My heart couldn’t take everything the world was asking of me. Eventually, at 27 years old and 30 pounds heavier, around the tail end of 2019/2020, I found myself enrolled in another school a private one known for Medicine and music. I’m on the 1 year accelerated track for my BSN. I have a 3.9. I got my first B because I got Covid-19. I’m struggling again because the school is so expensive. But, I won’t give up. I’ll finish this. Then, I’ll become a doctor.

This is absolutely true! When I began my pre-nursing degree, I wanted to quit after the first day of Biology for Majors, not because it was actually too hard but because I was trying to convince myself I wasn’t smart enough. Well, I have just recently graduated nursing school, passed my NCLEX, and start my job as a new grad RN next month!! So whoever is reading this, just know you absolutely can do it!!! Like she said, if the passion is there, that’s the biggest thing! Nursing school definitely isn’t easy but it’s manageable!! You can do it ❤️

Oh my goodness this made me cry. I have been on a waitlist for my nursing program for 3 years. I got the confirmation that I start in January of 2023. I have been stressing about how I am going to work/school/family. I just keep praying about it. Thank you for the encouragement.

It is not how smart you are, it is how determined you are to achieve your dream.

Thank you for this! At 18 I didn’t think I was smart enough, so never even tried to become a nurse. Now at 32, with 3 kids, I’m FINALLY on my path and applying in August! I’ve proven to myself so far that I really am capable! I love your content and have used it to help me understand different things I’m studying

Do it! I was 36 . Lost my factory job and wanted to obtain a more secure job.
Greatest decision. You can do it! Almost 60 now and still love my job!

Yes! I was one who definitively thought I wasn’t smart enough. I followed my planned path anyway to see how I would do and I graduated last May and passed my NCLEX a month later and I am now working as a nurse! If you have told yourself that you aren’t smart enough, prove yourself wrong!

I absolutely suck at school work but still managed to get a 3.6 gpa in nursing school. My one piece of advice for you all is to just do it. Don't even worry about what could happen. You might even surprise yourself.

I find this to be 100% true!! This was the biggest fear of mine until I got through my first year. It’s not how “smart” you are, it’s more about time management and having a good study schedule!

To those who are considering but are reluctant. A little bit about my journey so far. I was the high school dropout who got his GED, nursing school has been rough for me. It is very demanding BUT it can be done. I felt that I was not smart enough but I have made it through with just one more semester to go. Yes it has been a struggle but I feel that’s expected. I have to keep telling myself look how far I have come and the end is in sight.

YOU CAN DO IT JUST GRIND IT OUT
