As a GTI owner, I find cops are a lot less likely to ticket you if you have a newer model. This is also generally true for all cars. You are much less likely to get a ticket if your car is newer than 8 years, you’re dressed like business casual (which I am every day. I never leave the house in sweats unless going to the gym), and have only one ticket on your record. I have a 2018 GTI. Have done things around cops I shouldn’t have several times but they seem to not care as much

I remember a time when a ton of Genesis Coupes had arrived in my town, couple months earlier we saw with our own eyes a guy speeding with the newest one, loses traction and crashes into a highway barrier, car got totalled, he got fined, and I mean, that thing wouldn't ever see the road again, one of the tires was like half a kilometer away from it...
