These are some good observations, I can't wait for this game's release and finally be able to play it. Story driven is always going to be needed for me in exploration based games.

not only that but i also notice there are friendly patrol NPC in certain area and will help us attacking the enemies if needed, that already a win in my book
while NPC in genshin just stand there and watch

It might be the game engine, and might be the devs

the devs on ww really animated a lot on character expression, details, hair etc., on no cutscenes/dialogues

genshin devs, mostly can be seen on events or cutscenes, but there are some expressions on normal scenes but not too much

Genshin Impact uses Unity
Wuthering Waves uses Unreal Engine (UE4)

I say this is good and genshin should learn, well WW is gonna be a competition or rival for Hoyoverse

Genshin's dialogue have been improving lately. They seem to be experimenting a lot with angles and animations since Fontaine.

It's the difference in engines and the models being used for genshin. The fact is that genshin is a 3 year old game that was meant to succeed in the mobile market. Even compared to starrails where it has double or triple the anchor points for animation on the face alone. Genshin had to choose whether to sacrifice the storage size (limiting the number of players that will have access to the game ) or the quality of models. And they choose to make a lower quality model but save space so that people could still play till the game is finished. You can see this already with starrails already closing the gap to genshin's size even though it's been out for less than 1/3 rd of genshin's time. And this new game will be even more taxing on resources and I'm sure people with not so good laptops or mobiles will not be able to play it for long.

Note that : choices matter in this game

You have the option to
1) listen to his(Scar )story
2) you can tell him to shut up and fight skipping his lore

In hoyo games, choices have the same results

That's genuinely amazing, I've been missing expressiveness like this in Genshin. It's definitely gotten better if you compare the Mondstadt archon quest with recent events, they use the little animations for the characters more often, but these Wuthering Waves dialogues just top that with ease.

YOOOO I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS GAME OMG! THIS IS ONE THING I COMPLAIN ABOUT WITH GENSHIN. Like for example Neuvi will be talking and I'll literally be screaming in my head "His mouth isn't even moving!" like it happens so many times and I wished they were expressive! I can't wait to spend all my money on this gacha game!

I am always careful around "online-service" games, because many will have more details in the beginning to hold people, than drop things off on updates.

Now that it's dropped, I feel like story and characterization is so...rushed. It's like it's really rushing me to get to know the characters and what they're about without giving me enough time to grow into them. Same with worldbuilding.

i said it a million times, those are IN GAME DIALOGUE CUTSCENES. in Genshin's Dialogue cutscenes the characters are stiff and repeat the same 3 animations every single time, WuWa's way of making their dialogues makes each character look alive. They all have unique animations for their dialogue and move & act depending their personality.
Kuro has been cooking really hard.
