Wow I'm surprised y'all made a dedicated upload for my deal. But thank you and I shall gladly wear the Ray stamp of approval as a badge of honor. And thank you for continuing to spread the knowledge on how score some wins.

How can one find out how long a car has been sitting in the lot?

It’s a sad state of affairs when “ just under MSRP “ is called a “Great Deal “

That guy got a great deal, by sticking to his guns and by not being intimidated by the salesperson. Great work!

I remember when I went looking for a new car, a local dealer was $1500 higher than an out of town dealer. We told the local dealer to match the price and they got a sale. Sales person refused to match the deal, saying that he can not match the deal and he needs to feed his family. My wife and I looked somewhat astonished and said we too need to feed our family and that we will be losing more than $1500, since we were going to make a purchase. Salesman stuck to his guns and lost a sale !

I have no interest in playing these games with car dealers anymore, so I am happy to keep my current car until the wheels fall off.

See, you guys are doing a great job! We are learning from you. You are correct; most customers will not push back.

I can't believe they dropped the price that much, that's great.

I got a new Jeep gladiator for 8 percent below invoice by doing a little research on forums. Ordered it out of state to a great dealer and took delivery last January. Ordered a second one for work two months ago. YAA helped a lot for sorting out local dealers with insane mark ups.

Well guys today I received a call from the dealer where I placed an order for a new Tacoma that the blue crush color will not be available and that I should consider another color. I was under the impression that since I gave them a deposit back in March and they made me sign a buyer agreement that they placed that order. Is this a practice that dealers pull to get you to settle for something you don’t want?

I buy trucks like I buy houses. I'm always willing to walk away. I can't tell you how many houses I have bought 6 months after being told no to a cash offer. If the dealer hasn't called me, at least twice, I figure I don't have a good deal. LOL Right now I'm not even looking at either. But, I'll be around when things come down.

How is it legal for dealers to affect the market value of used vehicles to the extent that they are completely immune to depreciation. I.E a dealership just received 24 "new" 2021 c300 MB vehicles in the last couple weeks and are selling at MSRP, 2021 MSRP. In a normal market- which I am assuming will resume soon- If I purchased a car in 2021 as a consumer and let it sit, it should depreciate and I would take a loss even if I did not use the vehicle because newer models exist. Doesn't matter how many other 2021's exist, or are on the market, or how many 2022's are available, or will be made available. Tooling for 2023 MY manufacturing production is completed and MY23 should be well on it's way to whatever production numbers they estimate will be able to push through delayed port processes. Which lie is it? the semi conductor shortage is the price hike? It's the pandemic fault? Or federal regulations at port that delayed deliveries to the extent that dealers refused to place orders for customer for new vehicles? Honda claimed that were incapable of placing a new order for me for a white 2022 honda civic si and even if you found a cooperating dealer, they would likely add 3-7k as a market adjustment fee- highly desirable vehicle amidst a "shortage" . Moreover, the stealerships/ lobbyist have so much immediate influence over the market, cough cough KBB, that the private party values, at least for '21 MB c300's - haven't moved at all from their original MSRP. How is this legal? How is this not a clear concerted manipulation in Florida by dealers to hedge their losses? I don't even believe there was a shortage, I believe there was a production delay in 2021 and to sell consumers on a scam price hike they inflated the trade-in and used costs to hedge their losses for late deliveries and delays for FY2022 . Only people hurt were consumers by the dealers; by dealer actions which are not apparently a manufacturer/ dealer ethical violation?
