But I always remind myself that my crew, the workers and the operators, are the people that will make the job done. Without these men all I have is some papers and ideas. I applaud both men and women. My dad worked on radiators for many years in blistering heat as well as being a true farmer. My mom worked 3 jobs as well as caring for us. She never missed washing our clothes, walking us to school, and ensuring we ate 3 times a day as she cooked on. She also worked on those 3 jobs as well as the care. We grew up just fine. We never ever disrespected them because they worked hard to keep us safe and happy. And they earned our biggest respect. Now that we are older, My mom lives between our siblings but sadly dad passed away. We make sure mom has everything she needs. Both lived a life of selflessness because we were their life. I feel like I won the lottery at least three times. My wife appreciates all the construction, maintenance and repairs I do to keep the household operating and comfortable. We have an equitable division of labor, but she does more of the planning and organization, I do more of the heavy lifting. She did a great job of raising the kids while I worked longer hours. She appreciated the fact that she could quit the 40-hour a week grind and stay home with the kids for a few years. She looks around at her single women friends who are divorced, widowed or never married having to hire expensive contractors or just not get things done, and is grateful every day. Every morning we sit on the couch and hold hands with that warm-up on the coffee and just revel in contentment before we tackle the day’s challenges.
