The north Queensland city of Townsville has received over a year's worth of rain in a matter of days. Bushland that skirts the suburban areas of the city appears more like a swamp or wetland. More than 100 homes have been evacuated and the town's mayor has ordered the high-risk release of dam water to save the area from more widespread inundation following more than 1.23m of rain

I feel for you all. You are on your own.
We went through it two years ago in Condong NSW. Biggest flood since 1954. Lost everything.
Nobody knows where Condong is. Nobody cared. Nobody helped. Government did nothing. No assistance after. Not even a phone call.
Plenty of money was raised.
I dont know who got any.
I certainly didnt. The officials held it in an account. I wonder where it went. Still fixing and cleaning and replacing now.
Nice to see we send hundreds of millions overseas to help their disasters and forget about the people at home. It has changed my attitude towards charity. I once gave big. Not anymore.
