I have a headset, it has a microphone, but no matter how many settings I change, it always refuses to work in game, the strange thing is that the headset works, the microphone in the headset works, but inside some steam game to chat with other players, it doesn't work, I tried all the methods you showed, none worked, I don't know what else to do, if anyone can help me I will be very grateful.

I'm fairly tech savy, my mic has been working fine until just recently. Worked the day before, I haven't changed anything. Works on discord and in steam chat (when talking with friends) and only happens in Hunt Showdown, I've reinstalled the game and reset the audio/mic settings with the same issue.
I've tried another headset/mic same issue.
This tells me it's a specific game. But I have no sweet clue on how to fix this and it just happened.

So i had the same problem with mic not working. Checked all these videos and they all kind of said the same thing. Only one video i found suggested to check the permissions for apps on your desktop. Which worked for me. I did a win 11 debloat and i guess it turned the mic permissions off. Any way hope this helps someone.

I don't know what made it work for me, but after the video, it worked

Solution: Go into steam mic stettings and just mess with the values into your mic starts picking up accurately

I did every step, still don't work, even did diagnostics on my headset and mic, just wont work.
