This change was lame, Grindelwald gained my respect in the book when he pretty much mocked Voldemort and welcomed death, that was hella awesome.

First of all in the books grindelwald doesnt tell voldemort where it is because he respects dumbledore and wouldnt betray his old friend 2nd grindelwald openly laughs in voldemorts face and calls him by his birth name and the only people to do that are him, dumbledore, and harry

Voldemort: Where is the wand, Grindelwald?
Grindelwald: It's in Nunya.
Voldemort: Nunya?
Grindelwald: Nunya buisness
Voldemort: Avada-kedavra!

Grindelwald looks so happy to see someone visit him even for a few seconds, after 5 decades rotting there

49 second scene that could have been done better.
Call him Tom
Laugh in his face
And welcome death.
Just like in the book

Grindelwald never betray Dumbledore, he knew how the wand works and he knew how powerful and intelligent was Dumbledore, the wand never listen to Voldemort

A fully powered Grindelwald at his peak would destroy Voldemort.

why?
Grindelwald conquered the whole of fucking Europe in 6 years and was only bested by the greatest wizard of the age. Voldemort couldn't even conquer wizarding Britain after 14 years of trying (11 years in first war, 3 years in the second).

When Grindelwald and Dumbledore dueled they were aged 62/63, i.e. at the height of their powers, and Dumbledore said he only just won and that he was a touch more skilled. It was described as the greatest duel of the century, and when Voldemort and Dumbledore dueled in the DOM, Voldemort was aged 70 and Dumbledore was 114 years old, he was slower, weaker and his reactions weren't as good yet he was still able to toy with Voldemort (Book battle) whilst protecting Harry as well as ensuring Bellatrix didn't escape, he wasn't even trying to kill Voldemort and it's laughable that people think Voldemort held his own, yeah in the movie he did but that's the movie.

Grindelwald was also extremely intelligent and was considered as an intellectual equal by Dumbledore who we know is an incredibly clever wizard. We also know that Grindelwald was expelled from the Durmstrang Institute because he practiced magic that was too dark, magic too dark for a school that prided itself on teaching its students the Dark Arts, so it must have been pretty fucking dark.

Then there's the fact that Grindelwald was able to stand up to Voldemort when he came to visit him in Nurmengard. At the time Grindelwald was unarmed, 116 years old and had been rotting in a jail cell for 53 years where he was unable to train or practice magic, yet he was still able to stop a Voldemort at his peak from penetrating his mind.

Still think Voldemort would win? Grindelwald would school him.

I like how Voldemort has a certain respect for Grindelwald. He doesn’t talk down to him or mock him. He sees a fellow Dark Lord, not some sniveling wizard

The flashback of Dumbledore when he says “him” gives me goosebumps. Dumbledore is so bad ass.

This is total bullshit. In the book Grindelwald never betrayed Dumbledore like that, he had more respect for him. Whoever makes the movies really needs to pay close attention to the books.

Honestly this scene and book version is a perfect example of why continuity is important especially if you make sudden lore changes. Its obvious in the film they didnt know about dumbledores and grindelwalds bond yet in the books its the sole reason why grindelwald didnt tell voldermort its location.
