Malice / FATF was the first true fantasy book / series I read, and I had no issues with it in terms of structure / scope / amount of characters & places.😂

Yup. I basically agree with all this. I just finished Ruin and my feelings on the series have not really changed, though I do agree that Malice has been the worst of the three so far.

Agreed, I was rather disappointed after finishing it, especially considering all the initial hype surrounding it. Nothing really stood out, characters are cookie-cutter, dialogue was serviceable at best. I wouldn't necessarily call it bad, it was just 'fine', perhaps overrated if people are considering this as one of the top 10 fantasies of all time and such.
