I'm thrilled to be participating in the #worldhoppersecretsanta along with other booktubers from @worldhoppers8021 today! I was assigned the lovely Abby Salter (check out her channel below!) and read one of her favorite books: Malice by John Gwynne. Did I leave this til the last minute? Maybe... But I hope you enjoy the weekend reading vlog!

Scottish + Magic + Cool Action + Interesting Characters + Political intrigue + You brought book 2 before even finishing book 1! Wow, that's a great co-sign right there! This was a very entreating VLOG and gave me all the holiday/special time of year vibes with the snow and birthday parties! Heard some goo things about this book and it's cool your adding to the chorus of praise! It's funny your say books that started off slow but ended well because that's how we felt about our secret Santa book lol. Great Video!

Faithful and the Fallen is my favorite modern fantasy out today. Glad you liked Malice and Valor is a lot better in everyway!

Yaayyyy! I fully agree that Malice was a bit slow to start, but I also got super sucked in to it.

So jazzed to hear that you enjoyed it! :D

I love that you chose the vlog style for your review and that you tackled a fantasy tome for the secret santa! This was so cozy to watch 🤗 Malice is on my tbr for the new year, so I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it

Also the “this video needs to be live in 12 hours”...that was me as I was frantically editing haha 🤣

I really need to read this one next year!! So glad you ended up enjoying it. I can’t believe you read it in a weekend (but then again I can LOL). My secret Santa book Senlin Ascends surprised me too! I was super unsure at the beginning but really enjoyed it by the end!

Haha I also read my book in a weekend 😂 I’ve been so curious about Malice, it’s gotten so much hype lately. I love that you did this vlog style. It was fun following you around for a weekend!

I definitely want to buy this book soon. I almost bought it yesterday but I put it down. One of my goals for next year is to read more epic fantasies. Glad you loved it!!!

I read the same book over a weekend for Lezlie, also having not budgeted my time well, just like you lol! I loved it, especially those last two hundred pages so a lot of what you say here, I completely agree on! My biggest difference with you is that I did NOT enjoy Corban's storyline until about halfway through the book...I much preferred Veradis in the beginning.

A book I really struggled with in the beginning was Embassytown by China Miéville - I got so bogged down in the beginning trying to understand every detail when I eventually realised that’s not the point. Because it’s so much about language and meaning and translation once I loosened up and let myself be confused at times I flew through it and it ended up as an all-time-favourite!
