Hi Dianne...thank you for all your wonderful painting tips. They really give artist's great ideas! This latest tip on Aerial Perspective was extremely appreciated. I had heard the term but was fuzzy on the details and how artist's can see more ways to paint in nature with this helpful knowledge. So much of real painting is simply having a tool box of ideas to draw upon. I haven't met another online art teacher who does a better job sharing these ideas. You are a great human being. I would enjoy meeting you someday.

I've also heard aerial perspective referred to as atmospheric perspective. That helped me understand the terminology of aerial perspective better. The word aerial made me think it was actually meaning "up in the air", therefore, I was confused in a way. I really enjoy your way of teaching, and find myself keeping you on most all of the time. Thanks for sharing, what seems like, your infinite knowledge of art.

Wow! Thanks for sharing. Less value contrast is one most instructors leave out when teaching how to create atmosphere. Great lesson.

Thank you very much. I painted along with you with my watercolors, and I'm happy with the result. You know as far as " I'm learning, " not really so much what it looks like.

Thanks a lot ....these tips are so useful. Infact, Im practising your quick tips daily, as I take notes...its sometimes more fun to do these small experiments and practices than the actual big painting.

Hi Dianne, size perspective will only work if all the trees were the same size , if trees are taller in the background than the foreground then it wont work

Simply colors are cooler the further the way they get bcause the warmer color are filtered out by the air

Very informative, Dianne! I love seascapes and have tried to paint those beautiful, big luminous waves but just can’t figure out a technique to achieve that. Would you be able to address that one day? Thank you. Julie 🥰

You said items closer have more texture. Is texture the same as detail?

A quick question. I've been observing nature for awhile now since I've become more aware of it and I've noticed some things are different than what I'm being told. For example, I've been told things are darker as they come forward and lighter as they recede but I've noticed the opposite in *some* instances. So how do I deal with that, ignore what I see?
