What kind of water using? How often do you clean the vase? With Full water culture, do you top it off as needed?
Do you use artificial light?
The vase should be cylinder shape? Wide mouth?
Do you convert the orchid as soon as you bought?

Lots of questions, I am ready to change some of my orchid .
Thank you for your video.
Very valuable and easy to understand.
You have very beautiful orchid and very neat and clean.

Nice video. I grow a large vanda with very long roots using this method. I fill the jar once a week and let the roots soak for an hour. I also add fertilizer in the water each time and expose the plant to very high light,

What you’re showing is both semi water culture. Fwc has no dry days. Learned this from a lady on Facebook named Samantha when it all started. You just need about an 1/4 to an inch or so of roots in water 24/7. You just need to make sure the container has a wide enough opening for circulation and don’t let the water touch the stem.

I just leave mine in the water. They have bloomed twice already

for temperatures of 30-32°, use the FWC or SWC method

If FWC, why still have dry days? Why not 24/7 put the orchids in water?

What will the dry:wet ratio be in above 30C heat?

All of this is unnecessary. What this does is keep the plant from acclimating into a water medium, so you’ll forever be maintaining the plant with all this extra work. Simply leave it in water 24/7 and change the water every couple off days for the first month. Each time you change the water, cut off any roots that started to rot. The remaining roots will be fine and new roots will grow that are adapted.

🙄 I think I’ll get a plastic one. No water at all. Always in bloom.

Wait so you keep in the water for 3 days and then out of water for 4 days?
