There has never ever been a good Transformers movie, including Bumblebee, until this one. It's not Pixar great or Lego Movies great, but it's still quite good.

"maybe visual coherence isn't the point." Christie, I hear you with but what about Kung Fu Hustle? A film so little on plot, that's it's one long fight scene that works.
Yeah, I get what you're saying, and as an animator, I get like this a lot, "meh, it's not for me." And I've seen trends come and go.... and I'm often right.... AND RIGHT NOW, we are watching a Pixar artist getting all the keys.... and then making 1998'S SPAWN!

boombox, 1980s ghetto blaster boombox. I've thought about this for over 40 years, and I would want to be a 80s Boombox, on the stoops of the HOOD playing 80s hip hop, "I'm here to say..."
So yeah, there's a pixar director on this film, I hope it's good, because right now Studio Trigger did a love letter to the past animators. And the Skybound comics, t's a good time to be a fan of G1.

I think animated is definitely the way to go when it comes to to certain franchises, this is one of those, X-Men has also proven to be better. I would like them to try again with animated G.I Joe.
