Transformers One is SHOCKINGLY Good. Here's Why!

t figures that the best movie Paramount’s ever made from the Transformers franchise is animated. When I hit Comic Con in San Diego a few months ago, the folks behind Transformers One mentioned that by adopting an animated format, for the first time in the history of the big screen franchise, they were able to make a Transformers movie without any human characters, set 100% on Cybertron. It would have cost about $400 million had this been live-action. And, indeed, with no limit on the story's scope, for the first time, we have a Transformers movie that can legitimately be called terrific.

No! This movie is not set in the same universe as the movies.
The director said 100% it doesnt connect to anything.
Only Lorenzo di Bonaventura said its set like 5 billion years before the Bayverse but Lorenzo is an idiot who just opens his mouth to look cool.

There are way too many different things from the movies. Plus, all the transformers from the movies are less than 1000 years old, so they cant have existed 5 billion years ago. The 7 original Primes lived and died 19.000 uears ago in the Bayverse.

Its just Lorenzo spreading misinformation trying to market the film

What D-16/Megatron did to Sentinel Prime is brutal by tearing up his body into pieces but to be honest he definately got what he deserved anyway since Sentinel Prime is the main antagonist of this movie.

Watched it on Saturday and again on Wednesday for the fan event, thought it was great! Much better than I was expecting. No over the top cringe humor, the humor was there when necessary, serious tones, good story and really good animation.

I really enjoyed this movie as well.

It was well done and is probably one of the best TF movies to date.

Hopefully they stay in this universe for a while and do a few movies up to the point of them leaving for earth.

I was lucky enough to see it at the Aussie premiere on Tuesday with an appearance from Chris Hemsworth & Brian Tyree Henry. Brian was rocking an awesome full length Megatron trench-coat & one of the kids behind me yelled "Stop talking & play the movie!" while Chris was answering a question.
As for the movie, it's definitely a winner. It's entertaining & safe enough for parents to bring their kids while also throwing in a few Easter eggs for us older fans.

It's great for what it is, a big screen toy commercial to grab a new generation. And that's a good thing. Imagine a Joe animated that was pulled and adapted from a few comics with a bit of an updated feel. I get the war is blah blah blah, but look at Maverick that did great though. We could get an animated Joe like just involving Ace and Wild Weasel with some amazing Macross/Gundam battle sequences, toss in Ghost going ham, Destro selling boom boom to America and its enemies, CoCo running for president and winning at the end, the joes trying to collect info to stop him and show a record of his global crimes, Baroness could turn out to have been playing lady Jaye for the entire film as the twist. And this could bring back the 3.75 line and actual good vehicles.

Now, there is one plot point that I am absolutely sure is coming. In the previews, they are constantly setting up Bumble Bee as the annoying sidekick, never shuts up. At the end of the movie, when Megatron finally goes full evil, he Shoots Bee in the throat, to finally shut him up.

It is easily the best Transformers movie. I really hope that this movie has a successful box office run, because this is the path forward for the Transformers franchise. I don't ever need to see a live action TF movie again.

This movie was surprisingly good. I loved the original, this was different - tad more humorous, but was brilliantly executed

I watched this film today. I really do hope that they decide to set this as a prequel to Bumblebee and ROTB rather than making it its own franchise though. I really do want to see the interaction between Optimus and Megatron in live action based on the context given in this film.
