What is a somatic work out?
The following is Google's definition:
Somatic movement is moving with full-body awareness, focusing more on how you're feeling rather than meeting a specific fitness goal. It's a way to connect your emotions to how you're feeling physically. When done regularly, somatic movement can benefit both the body and mind in profound ways.

I've choreographed this floor workout to relieve anxiety, tension and stress. It's a 20 minute follow along workout that is suitable for seniors and beginners. Grab a pillow if you if are more comfortable with hip or neck support.
By following these exercises you are allowing your body to relax and connect with your mind. Breathe slowly and focus on your areas of pain, trouble or stress whether it's physical or mental.

Personally I found the word somatic brought me in. I have been taking a course on somatic self resilience for dogs with trauma and reading a book on the body keeps the score. There was a difference in this time spent together. More than stretching, more on the lines of combining meditation, affirmations and body awareness. Thank you for this change and release.

I want you to know how much I enjoyed this workout. It's safe, and effective. I'm 67 and experiencing pain in my shoulders, probably due to arthritis. Your workouts are tremendously helpful in relieving pain and stiffness. Thank you for helping seniors like me.
