Are you looking for a new Milwaukee drill? Whether you're a first time Milwaukee buyer or a long time big red user, the new Milwaukee drill, the 2904 is one of the best hammer drills on the market. In this video, we're gonna see how it stacks up internally, against the 3rd generation 2804 in a series of hands on tests.

Clint is going to walk you through all the specs, features, and details you need to know about each of these M18 Fuel hammer drills and then share the results from our in house hands-on testing. We run each of these through wood drilling, concrete drilling, and a lag bolt torque test.

So who you got? Old School vs New School! Leave it in the comments!

Got my gen 3 new for $80 from home depot clearance aisle, love it.I would like the auto-stop feature but not worth the upgrade.

Got my first Milwaukee drill from a pawn shop used, 1 battery, and 1 charging station (idk what gen it is but will find out). It has done me good but my girlfriend works for a company that is in the oil n gas industry so she has contacts and some of them are Reps. for vendors. . . Well one of them is for Milwaukee so she asked and received a brand new Milwaukee M18 drill with the 2 batteries, side-handle, and charging station in the hard case box for free and gifted it to me. It has been working wonders and makes me happy knowing I have a top of the line drill.

You left out the issues with the chuck and clutch. I had the 2804 and bought the 2904 and it's 1, 000x better just for those two things. No more having to switch drills to have a working clutch, no more having the chuck loosen itself after drilling a large number of holes.

I still have and use the GEN 1 Fuel Drill. I can drill 15 inch self feed bits through 3 inches of OSB, on speed 2! No Joke man! 😂

As an electrician who works in industrial/institution, my gen 3 hammer drill kicks some ass. No problem for drilling and driving. We also have to point out the incredible precision we're getting from a drill! It refuses to fail. Finally, adding HO batteries is just abusing!

You left out the issues regarding clutch gen3 vs gen4.

You guys don't use clutch ? Is it mechanical finally or still electric? Why don't you test accuracy? The big issue with Milwaukee drills as they rip off screw heads and destroy smaller fasteners, power is already more than enough.

Great info . For me the brand platform has alot to do with Batteries . What happens when better batteries are used .I find those 5AH starve my gen 3 . A question - In either drill does that new forge make much of a jump over the 6ah .And in either drill how does the new forge compare in use to the 12ah battery .

Does anyone know if the gen 4 will fit in a gen 3 box?

Overall better. Hate the sound ( loud af ) . Definitely offers better speed and faster concrete drilling.
