I am 75 and bought a 2023 off-road premium. My vote is in. Probably my last 4 runner and the kids won’t have problems selling it when I am gone.

4Runner will be built in Japan vs Taco in Mexico, so huge plus

I'm still driving my 2003 4runner. First year model. Truck still runs like new.

never saw the mustache before but now cannot unsee it.

Since the 4Runner and Tacoma share the same platform, I don’t see any reason why the geometry and components would be different other than the length of the chassis. Thus the aftermarket community is already there making parts for a Tacoma, which likely will be an exact fit for the 4Runner

I’m glad that the max towing capacity increased by 20% over the outgoing 4Runner because some people may need to tow quite a bit but still want something that easier to park

I ended up buying a 2024 5th Gen. What it came down to for me was 1) fear of higher prices in the 6th Gen, 2) unknown initial reliability, which is probably again more fear. Toyota will figure it out. So, maybe in a few years I’d consider switching, but after having this new truck for the past month and a half, I think this is my forever truck. Or at least until I’m too old to get out there. And now I can’t unsee that double Hulk Hogan mustache. Thanks Jon 😂.

Government regulations caused them to change, not the consumer. If it was the consumer, then 5th gen would remain on the lot just like all the new Tundras.

Hoping that with the hybrid 4runner, it will make a solid car camping setup-- being able to run AC/heat when sleeping inside, powered by the 1.87kw battery completely silent, with the engine only cycling on to charge it back up🎉

Give Toyota 2-3 years to work out the bugs. Too many misses lately to trust a new model. Buy a 5th Gen and drive that while you wait. It should hold its value fine.

Ive gone back and forth over and over, but just picked up a '20 TRD pro! Thanks for helping me decide man. I've been back and forth and actually went back to your 2020 trd pro video to help me decide

2021 4runner with 36k miles, so I'm just out of the "break-in" period 😄

I have a 2019 TRD Off Road. I towed my 20ft fish and ski boat @ 5k pounds plus fuel and gear in the boat and gear in the back of the runner. Likely 6k pounds. No problem for the last 5 years. Wear on the brakes unless you have a trailer that has brakes and works with a controller. Then it's pretty simple. Give your 4R some oil and watch the rust (yearly oil coat) and you have a long lasting beast.

You should never buy an "all new" regardless of brand. Buy after a year or two after they sort out the issues.

Very seriously, considering the 6th gen, I can't wait for ride reviews

Def looking to get the 6th gen trailhunter, great video and good pros and cons. Hoping you update it once they have a true release date with more details.

I’m not sold on the new body style. New tech doesn’t always mean better. Give it at least three years to see if the new engine and transmission has the proven reliability of its predecessor. I just bought a new 5th Gen TRD ORP about a month ago and absolutely love it. She’s a keeper and will be a lifelong family member.

Great video! Completely upfront and honest about these new Tacomas and four runners.I’m bummed out about the exact same interior in both of these. My wife had a 2005 limited four runner and man it was nice and had a very nice looking interior.Ive got a 2nd gen Tacoma and I may hang onto it lol!
