You made it real easy to install the metal roof, I think I can do it myself. One question Mike, can I lay the metal roof over my shingled roof, the shingles are pretty good condition, it can serve as extra protecton. What your opinion? thanks

It would have been nice to have you talk about cutting out around the protrusions from the roof, in this case, the one air vent, but in the case of most roofs, there are many protrusions.

On the good side you did show sealing the foam pieces to the ridge cap. Good video, except you failed to mention that the screws should not be tighter than the specified torque for the roof and fasteners, and WHY.

Why didn't you use furring straps? From what I gather it's recommended and required in some parts.

I don’t see how well that ridge cap works. Looks like water and or debris can build up there under the ridge cap.

Metal roofs are low Maintenance not no maintenance, the rubber washers on the roofing screws fail overtime and will need either replaced, coated, or caulked, for my jobs we replace them. You should mention to use High Temp Ice & Water under metal panels, I did see you had thays what you used.

This roof looks like it has less than a 9:1 slope, in which case exposed fastener metal roofing should not have been installed.

roofing screws suck, the roof may last 50 years, but the washers will last maybe 10 years and then water will drip underneath and youll never know until it rots out so bad you get mold and wood rot. next thing you know your tearing up panels. i have that situation now. a house i bought the carriage house (garage) has all screws and nailed washers on it and they all are dripping. i tried replacing most of them but it rot the wood beams under it so much that ill eventually somehow need to tear the whole thing off and have someone relay new wood under and even maybe fix some of the main beams. my main house has almost no screws in it at all besides the ones for the hanging gutters and even those im worried about for the future. each time you take your gutters on and off your messing with that hole
