I traveled to more than 5 Dealerships to show you guys what current inventory and easily identifiable discounts look like. Not only are interest rates super high right now but MSRPs have gotten out of control. Thankfully many of the dealers are finally coming back down to Earth on their pricing below MSRP.

Thoughts?

So let me get this straight. They raise there price $20, 000 and “discount” it 5000 and I am supposed to think that is a great deal? Ummmm No!

Everyone needs to hold the line and refuse to buy until the prices drop significantly.

I drive past a Chevy/GMC dealer nearly every day.
I haven’t seen anyone on their lot looking at vehicles in a couple of months now.
Dealerships have been screwing the public for a long time now, people have woke up and now it appears the dealerships are the ones getting screwed and it’s long overdue in my opinion

If everyone just took a breath and stopped buying over priced goods for just 60 days, we would all be amazed at how fast prices would deflate across many items.

7000 dollars off a 100, 000 dollar car is no much of a reduction…

Car dealers have painted themselves into a corner with ridiculously high prices. The consumer has finally said "enough is enough" and lost interest in buying new vehicles. Now they have a SURPLUS of inventory they can't unload. I think it will get WORSE for dealers before it gets better.

When the prices drop significantly and the interest rates get to the 1.9%, there will most likely be a mad rush. Im holding out, i don't need a truck replacement yet. Plus i refuse to go to any dealer who used that market adjustment. Those dealers have lost my business for life

These are not discounts it’s a scam. Let them collect their vehicles.

Value oriented buyers will never pay these prices. Never!

What keeps prices high are dealers who use off-site lots to hide inventory in order to create the facade of low inventory on their main lot. They artificially keep prices and demand high, which is why people are still paying these ridiculous prices. Dealers learned how well this works during COVID, when they actually did have lower inventory. There is no end in sight to this pathetic practice, as consumers continue to fall for the scam in enough numbers, that dealers will continue to be reluctant to go back to showing all their cards.

People who lease rarely change the oil on time if ever. No way I'd buy a lease return unless it has a full service history or it's heavily discounted to account for the future maintenance nightmare.

One trick i'm noticing lately from dealers is big discounts off msrp offset by ridiculous add on's.

The big three eliminated quality control 5 years ago. I wouldn't buy a new Ram, GM, or Ford product for more than 20k. You'll need that extra money for repairs.

Well when they are more than $25, 000 over priced I’m suprised they sold a single one

Toyota dealerships in Louisiana and Texas (my neck of the woods) are notorious for showing a big discount online or in negotiations only to see a massive markup when you review the numbers on paper. Toyota dealers specifically seem to be holding on to the excuse of market popularity to justify the price increases. Not sure if your dealer is doing that there.

Toyota is now selling around 250, 000- 300, 000 Camry's per year. Probably 10-25% are sold to fleets. It's sad that Ford gave up on the car market in the USA after making good selling cars such as the Taurus, Fucson, Escort etc

Add to that the fact they stoppped making them for the working man which is what they were supposed to be.

Good to see you visiting Boise ID. That’s the Subaru dealership I bought my Outback at and have it serviced at too. They’ve been good to me.

I would like to know how much it actually costs to build a 4 Runner or any other vehicle? I mean what does it cost Toyota to build a vehicle? This information is probably guarded more heavily than the launch code for the nukes.
