A short clip of dinnertime for my juvenile Liphistius ornatus trap door spider. As you can see, she has got a fair bit bigger since the original Clio I posted 😊.These are a family of ancient Trap door spiders who have barely changed in millions of years. They exhibit a lot of the traits of prehistoric spiders found in amber resin, such as the segmented plates of the exoskeleton of the abdomen. They are also fast 😊 #Liphistius #ornatus #spider #spidersofinstagram #arachnid #arachnidsofinstagram #hobby #trap #door #pet #wildlifephotography #wildlife #nature #naturephotography #video #feedingtime

I thought the lines were the spider's legs.

Imagine walking along, minding your own business and whack! Down the hatch and then down the hatch!

When the spider flung open the door and missed the bug the cricket was like "hold up this ain't the M.A.C makeup store"

They must have been pretty embarrassed after missing the first time. Let them know it's okay, and they did great.

Stop talking about a nasty @$$ spider like it’s a dog. If that thing was in my house I would jump out a window
