I really like your take on modicias "bloat" as you put it. When I first started using Linux I loved those distros with "bloat" because it enabled me to very quickly find replacements for my former windows programs. I will never understand why people in Linux get upset over what other people like. It dumbfounds me its that choice that makes Linux perfect for so many people.

I recently switched to NixOS. I think it's the best Linux distribution by far because it's stable has more software in it's package manager than all other distributions and you can copy your configuration to other machines with no efforts at all. It is not based on another distribution. You can choose whatever desktop environment or window manager you want and switch easily without having the feeling that some DEs work better others. It has the advantages of rolling and fixed distributions all together. NixOS is a revolution and just awesome! 😊

My daily driver for the last year has been Xerolinux. After having to fix something almost every time I updated Arco, I tried Xero and have been amazed at the overall stability. For me, it is the only choice if you want an Arch system.

Big became my daily driver after your dedicated big video. I was using Manjaro and really liked it but it had some issues that big didn't have. Been running fantastically on my work bench machine and my laptop I use for both work and home use. I also haven't had the Manjaro update issues with big that was one of the main reasons I wanted to get away from manjaro

Big Linux is my daily drivers for my old laptop. It is lightweight and easy to use. I agreed with you. It is awesome. The evidence of using it is on my channel. 🤭

I had an odd, and ultimately rather unpleasant, experience with Makulu. First off, I loved the distro. I think it would have been my daily driver for a very long time if I had been able to install it. I couldn't. My system was an MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk with a Ryzen 5 5600G processor, a single 256 GB SSD, and 16GB of Corsair with a Vengeance LPX memory. Attempts to install Makulu always hung part-way through. Sometime it appeared to work, but. the system wasn't there after I rebooted the machine.A guy on their forum put in long hours trying to help me with it, for which many thanks to him. (You will meet him if you go there. He's the official greeter.)

Nice! I've used Gentoo for years and will stick to that. I may consider one of these for my laptop as maybe a permanent secondary OS (on a separate SSD of course). I have Gentoo installed on it whenever I need to experiment or replicate something to write documentation.

The panel size icons and magnification on Mac OS ARE adjustable to taste.

Vanilla OS is going to be the game changer soon. I've never found a distro that runs so smooth without any lags on a very very very old laptop/pc. This time the vanilla os totally satisfied me with the performance.
Here's a thing: if a distro can handle a very old pc very well, it's obviously able to handle an updated hardware hundred times better than others. Simple!

Salix 15.0 released in September 2022 stopped me from Distro hopping, and I have since deleted all my other distros.

BigLinux is my distro for entertainment it works great for this because of the webapp options I can use them for Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon prime it works great..for an Arch base distro very easy to manage
