Today, I'm sharing a spirit-led strategy, and foundational scripture that you can learn and memorize, in order to silence attacks of condemnation from the enemy. This is how we apply God's word to our life and take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5)

As Christians, it's important to fight against condemnation, guilt, and shame by first discerning it in the spirit. The way we begin to discern the spirit of condemnation is to know the word of God.

Scripture to Memorize:
Romans 8:1 NIV
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus

Romans 8:1 AMP
Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior].

**Any version of the Bible that you understand is what you should use. Note that I like several versions of this scripture, which is why I included both.

This is not an in depth study on condemnation or breaking the stronghold of condemnation. However, we often don't know where to start when it comes to combatting guilt. Guilt especially is one of the hardest spiritual attacks to discern, and I'm hoping this helps you on your journey of being transformed in Christ and learning how to take every thought or feeling captive by applying God's word to your life.

If after you take your stand against the spirit of condemnation and it doesn't flee, it's key to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the root cause of guilt or shame by following the steps I provided.

**Remember, this is not a formula but a strategy to use, as you invite the Holy Spirit in to guide you into freedom. As Christians, its helpful to use a biblically-based strategy but the Holy Spirit will always know what is best.

Guilt and shame are often intertwined with Condemnation.

You will know you are completely free of an attack of condemnation when you receive the peace of God. Always remember to ask for help from your pastor or church leadership, especially if you've tried this on your own and are still overwhelmed with condemnation. Also, remember that when shame or guilt tries to attack us, it doesn't mean we've done anything wrong. As Christians, we all will be attacked with condemnation throughout our lives but we do not have to submit or be in bondage to it.

For Clarity: This is Christian discipleship, not counseling. It's best to work with your doctor or therapist along with your pastor if you're dealing with severe psychiatric issues. Please don't try and figure it out on your own and ask for help.
