50-year plumber here, and I completely agree!! Spend a little more money and replace the thimg with one equipped with a vacuum breaker, which will allow the water to fully drain from the sillcock when turned off AND will satisfy the plumbing code

Temperatures dropping to the teens tonight, I scrambled to fix leaking faucet and then found your video with the exact same faucet. Followed every step of your instructions, including your parts recommendations, and repair went perfectly and faucet no longer leaks. Finished a few hours ago just as it started snowing. Thank you!

This video is incredibly helpful. I feel inept when it comes to home maintenance, especially anything to do with plumbing, but after watching this, I think I can actually fix our outdoor faucet now. So, thank you very much for your instruction.

Thank you for this video. I took my spigot apart and was shocked to find a long shaft. Your video helped me ensure that I was not crazy. Got the washer replaced and all good. $1.97 versus hiring a plumber.

Had a plumber tell me one time after he replace the faucet in my bath tub, the best way to make the faucet last longer is to act like a little old lady with arthritis in my hands and only turn it till it stops dripping. Great advice.

Thanks for this clear video. I detached my hose from my exterior faucet today and noticed that the it was really dripping quite a bit. With colder temps on the way I couldn't leave it like that. I had repaid an interior faucet on a utility sink just a few days ago, but watched your video as I have a similar setup with a frost-free faucet. The only issue I had is that the bib washers I had on hand were 1/4-in M size, and I needed 1/4-in S size. I went to my local hardware store and picked up what was the last package and completed the repair. Thanks again!

Thanks for the excellent video. I was able to replace the washer and fix the leak with no problems. It was much easier and cheaper than replacing the entire faucet and no plumber was required!

Your video saved me a lot of stress and money! I was ripped off by a plumber who "fixed" my leaking hose bib for $150 less than a year ago. He warned me that his repair might not hold, and a permanent fix would be several thousand dollars. When I took it apart, the washer looked like yours... I think he used the wrong size for this unnecessarily expensive repair. Your recommendation for $10 of washers and careful instructions were perfect. Repaired it myself and I'm confident I can do it again if I have to. THANK YOU!!

Wow. Thank you. I have a 40 year old out door spigot. 79 cent rubber washer fixed my leak. I almost paid a plumber 200 bucks to replace it.

Terrific video! Followed your instructions and stopped my leaking spigot. BTW - Before fixing this using your video, I called a plumber to review the situation, and he provided a ridiculous and expensive “solution” that I quickly rejected. Lesson learned - Check how-to videos first before calling a contractor. Doing so would have saved me some time and money.
