How different is it when drawing on the big 12.9-inch vs smaller 11-inch iPad Pro.

Does not matter how massive the screen can be, still gonna be zooming in.

this is all i needed to hear. 11 inches it is. I think a larger canvas would be intimidating for me and trigger the perfectionist in me. 11 inch would keep it fun and light.

I have to admit, I made up my mind the moment you said two extra inches cost two extra hundred dollars.

I feel like 11 inches is more than enough, especially when you can just zoom in on specific parts if needed. The dealbreaker for me was simply which one was in stock (which was the 11 inches)

I hope there is 12 inch ( ̄へ ̄) perfect size imo

I feel like animation apps would benefit from that extra screen real-estate as you do need to have the timeline and tools visible most of the time. That said I still decided to get 11 inch to sketch on the go, in cafes and on the sofa, screen size feels fine when you actually try it and it's SO much lighter.

I also have got the 12.9 for the last few years and just now got the 11 inch. Gotta admit I love how much easier it is to Carry around. And I’m not missing the larger area so far. Plus it’s much easier to put in my bag for cycling to work.

I was at the Apple store when I watched this. Settled for the 11 inch. Thanks very much

Why can't we just have a 12" ugh. I currently have a Pro 2020 12.9" but it's starting to feel too big for my liking. I'm planning on buying the 2021 11", but then it seems too small.

I'll go for the 11 inches. I used to work on a PC and the monitor size was a bit over 20 inches and my eyes were getting lost in that. made my eyes tired of trying to find where I wanted to click on. So I upgraded to a 15.6 inch laptop and it feels nice to have a smaller screen and portable device. so much easier on my eyes. yes, sometimes a bigger display would be helpful if you're constantly zooming in and viewing a smaller part of the work each time until you zoom out to see the larger picture but I would sacrifice that for all the other benefits of a 11'. i also tend to use smaller sketchbooks the most, and portability matters to me. 11 inches seem more comfortable. thanks for the video.

>>>update: after seeing both models up close at the store, I went for the 11". The 12.9" is way too heavy and takes up so much space, you'll be wondering how to hold it correctly. My hands are slim and on the smaller side, so lifting the 12.9" was not comfortable for me. Wouldn't be a good "on the go" choice either bcs of its size. If you care about portability and comfort the most, go for the 11" you won't regret it. The screen size is perfect for drawing.

I still have the 2018 9.7 inch iPad, and it works great.

I think they need to make a 12 inch iPad Pro I think that would be the best way to go.

Thank you so much for this! I was really wondering if I should upsize to 12.9 inches from 11 inches and your video and the comments below made me realize I'll be just fine sticking with my 11 inch. Thank you again!

I'm kinda indecisive which size to buy. I think the 12.9 is kinda too big but I also wish something a little bigger than the 11. Kinda sad that apple doesn't have a 11.9 inch iPad pro.

I still don't know if I should go with the 11 I do need the portability because I'm a person that enjoys drawing in others places than home. I love drawing looking to the river and in my country there's alot of good stops to chill next to the river, and I also travel alot.

But I also want to use photoshop and other softwares like adobe animate and clip studio. Do you think the 11 inch is good for that? I'm kinda worried that maybe it's a waste of money to buy the iPad pro to just use procreate. I know iPad air is good for it too. I don't think the difference is that big.

I'm still so indecisive I want an iPad that will last me years and that I can be a professional with cuz I have a degree in animation and illustration and I want to work hard to be a professional on that area. I'm also a graphic designer. But I also want something portable. I'm super indecisive. 😭

I'm getting the 11" for Drawing; Writing, watching shows, video editing, and some gaming.
I'm used to drawing on a little android. So I think the 11" is great for my transition. I can't really afford the 12.9" if I wanted to get a case, a screen protector, and Procreate.
P.s I didn't know the wait was going to be this long lol. I ordered mine on August 29th and I still have up to 13 days to wait, people weren't lying when they said "I've been waiting for so long for this to come!" 😭

I'm having a lot of inner debates on whether to get the 11' or the 12'9 haha, I intend it for like 50% drawing and 50% video watching/movie streaming, for the latter I think the 11' would be better because I can hold it in a comfortable position and bring it with me in cars easily, but for the drawing I think I'd prefer the extra space, except I don't want to have to put it in the table to draw.. I never draw at a desk anymore. A lot of people strongly recommend the bigger one because the more space the better. But yeah I'm confused 😂😂

I kept goofing back and forth. Finally chose the 12.9 I’m glad I did.

I brought 12.9 with me on a bike trip and I ended up NOT using it on the road because it was too demanding to take it out and use spontaneously. So I ended up taking photos with a phe, haha... 11 is definitely more convenient size for carrying around....
Shines nicely in the night though....

Really appreciate the comparison, thank you. This really helped make choosing between the two easier as I'd been contemplating getting one for sketching purposes - any animation to be done will be left to the Mac. Smaller one it is!
