Ya'll have been waiting for this one :D In this video I go into depth on my extensive experience with both the iPad Pro 11" and the iPad Pro 12.9" (that I recently picked up) in the realm of college and personal work. I firstly go over portability/footprint aspects, then conduct a speaker quality test, talk battery life and then go in depth comparing many of the iPad Pro apps we love side by side in order to give you an idea as to what to expect from each form factor. I then get into why you should go bigger or smaller in regard to price and screen real estate.

I love reading books on my back in bed with the 12.9. When it hits me in the face, it keeps me awake.

I got the 12.9" and originally thought it was way too big. I thought of switching to the 11", but as I started taking notes in class and carrying it around, my eyes adjusted to the size. It looks perfectly normal now, and I can't imagine switching to a smaller size!

Freaking Finally. Dude I can’t tell you how long I’ve been searching for a video like this. I’ve been struggling about what size to get lately.

Guys, if you are just regular users and do not need to use any specific app, just for college and watching series, ear me out:

I've had the iPad Pro 11" for over a year and a half now, and it is very comfortable to carry arround. On a daily basis I read manga with it, watch anime, or youtube videos and taking notes.
Now, that said... The *ONLY THING* I miss about this iPad is the extra space while using multitasking.
I do all my notes with it, and rarely use any paper, so when I am writing on the split screen in one side and I'm looking for information at the same time on safari, it gets super uncomfortable because I'm forced to zoom in and out to write all the time. You don't have full view of the stuff you are writing and it slows you down much.

So, in my opinion you should pick 12.9" for school work (if you want to use split screen), you may have to sacrifice portability but I think it's worth.

You also have the option of going to a shop and compare sizes before ordering one.

I would say the 12.9” is best if you are mainly working with the device supported on a desk or table. The 11” if using mainly as tablet in the hand. If cost is major consideration, just go for the regular iPad which are also capable devices, now with keyboard and pencil support. I have the 12.9” iPad Pro 2018 and love it - my favourite device ever!

I decided to go for the 12.9” and don’t regret it one bit. So far it’s been excellent. I use it for digital note taking etc for uni. Very expensive, but when paired with the Apple Pencil, it works wonderfully for me

Great video Noah! I own the 12.9 inch iPad Pro. If you plan to walk around your house using your iPad and you primarily use it for reading books or magazines, surfing the web, media content and YouTube on the couch / social media then i’d suggest you get the newest iPad Mini 5 or iPad Air and save some money. The new iPad Mini has the older design but its internals are future proof and its super lightweight and portable. It’s all you need with the 11 inch Pro being massive overkill for those listed tasks. For students taking handwritten notes, or using a keyboard case and multitasking you should definitely get the 12.9 if you can afford it. The extra screen space is an absolute luxury for productivity. The size difference is NOT that big a deal if you carry it in a school bag, its unnoticeable in a backpack. The difference in weight is 300 grams. People on here saying.. “If only they made a 12 inch iPad”. Trust me, you will get used to the extra .9 of an inch, if you owned the 12.9 inch you’d probably laugh at that comment in a month.

I just sold my 12.9 pro and bought the 11. The main reason was i started traveling a lot. 11 inch is much convenient if you use your ipad without the keyboard especially in the plane or on the couch. If u use it more on the desk and much more like laptop replacement then definitely go with the 12.9.

Noah great video man, I just went from an 11" to a 12.9". I was as well driven initially by the fact that I preferred portability vs. screen size. And yes the 11"is real nice, no complains, but I decided to try the 12.9" and I fell in love with it. I don’t mind losing portability for the extra screen size. It’s worth it. I won’t go back to the 11". Definitely go with the 12.9" if it’s your first iPad Pro, you won’t regret it.

Prefer the 12.9 inch, I take with me everywhere no problem. It’s great for multitasking!

Got the 12’9 and returned it for the 11”. Using it like a tablet and playing games it’s the perfect size. The 12’9 is just too big to comfortably hold and type etc. if you want a bigger but still portable device, get a MacBook Air 13” imho.

When I first found this channel I was kinda "eh" about iPad. But the amount of depth to your iPad content made me genuinely interested in learning all I can about the iPad line

I really prefer the 11! I use it for school work and notes. Compared to the 12.9 it looks small, but when you use it, it’s really perfect and feels large but comfortable to hold. It’s great for studying but also great for relaxing in bed with some Netflix.

I have the 12.9 inch, always wondered the 11 inch. I just received an 11 inch for test.
After using the 11 inch a few hours i felt was missing something, so i switched back and yes it’s the screen ratio i think. I highly prefer the 12.9.
Indeed the audio is more mature on the 12.9, and the audio on 11 inch is really different in the highs (less pleasant / natural).
Will be testing side by side some further. If you don’t leave home with the ipad, to my opinion the 12.9 is the better choice despite the extra weight.

I wish there was a size in between or maybe a 11.5”.

I wish there was a video showing the size comparison against real life things. Like a human walking down the street. Or a far away view of someone putting it in their bag. Purse. Or backpack. Some one sitting on a bench or sofa with it in their hand. Some one laying in bed. Without the keyboard. Someone sitting at a school desk with it. I haven’t found one size comparison video that gives a real idea of the actual size. I want to buy one but can’t go look in the store Bc of the pandemic. And I can’t decide on the size Bc I have no idea how true the size is Bc I keep seeing videos of ppl with them on a table. Good review tho on the pros and cons of the diff size
