Do you constantly feel like crap?

You might be overtraining.

Hustle culture has created this idea that you have to train two hours a day to build an amazing physique.

That couldn’t be further from the truth.

Yes, you’ll have to train slightly more as you become advanced.

But most people don’t need more than 45 minutes a few times per week to make amazing gains.

I’ve noticed more progress, both in terms of my physical development and my quality of life by spending less time in the gym and more time focused on recovery.

Yes brother, this is a massively underated topic. Recovery and rest is when you actually do all of your growth. Get your sleep right everyone!

I think David Goggins does it to test his brain and for a more philosophical point which I admire. However rest and recovery are essential, I like to run and notice when I take 1-2 rest days I move faster and can run a bit longer

Excellent 👌 Reminder, thank you! Also, as someone who is of a certain age - pre-work out stretching is more important to help with recovery.

Just depends per person really, Extra sets can be useful for volume accumulation. Not optimal if form/intensity deteriorates.

Anytime I see David Goggins, the first thought in my head is ambulatory rhabdomyolysis.

That's so key! I am doing 6 times a week now, instead of 2. And i divide the sets throughout those 6. Much better recovery, better quality of sets, better energy throughout the day

I am trying HIT Mike menzter style to see how it works for me. As a dad with three little kids, 10 hr work days, and a long commute, i have very little time to train. It is hard even to train two times per week. So HIT has been very attractive as a time saver doing very instense, one set to all out failure two times per week. just started, so i have yet to see results, although i feel a lot better.

Maybe I should try two 45 minute workouts each day instead of a single hour and a half work out

You looked a thousand times better with a long beard bro.

That is my honest option as a man.

Ok, great, but what are you training for? You never said.
Size, fitness, strength.
I find certain exercises require 5 or 6 sets, others way less....everyone's different.
