I checked mine and it was perfectly clean. I cleaned the ribbon cable and contacts anyway with an alcohol pad and reassembled, and it worked. Thanks!

This really worked for me. After 3 months of not working the start button, I came and watch this video. As I was about to start open ing the Machíne I pressed the start button and voila !! It worked!! A guess the Machíne was affraid of going to surgery.

Thanks! Mine was exactly this case, and fixed. Back to normal life, thanks to your help. For cleaning the ribbon cable, I used "Mass airflow sensor cleaner", which removed all goo and cleaned it perfectly without damaging the cable and the connection area just by spraying it, instead of using the eraser.

Thanks! Just fixed ours using what I learned here. Different model, same manufacturer. Cleaning connections and tightening them fixed the problem!

All lights are on even the start button..when pressed the start button blinks then turns off all the lights. What now?

Please try to keep the camera a little more steady. I’m a first time “fixer” and trying to follow everything your doing is hard to do with the camera bouncing all over the place and/or out of frame. I’m going to try to fix my dishwasher now and I hope it makes sense.

Had same start button issue with mine. Thankfully turning off power to inspect it reset the panel. When turned power back on that pesky start button was working again.
