Legends of Runeterra is a free-to-play digital collectible card game developed and published by Riot Games. It released on April 29, 2020 for Microsoft Windows, Android, and iOS. The game was released in open beta for Microsoft Windows on January 24, 2020. It uses a setting and characters which originated with League of Legends, a multiplayer online battle arena game by Riot Games. Legends of Runeterra is a turn-based card game between two opponents, using constructed decks of 40 cards. Each player begins the match with a hand of four playing cards randomly selected from their card deck, a 20-health-point Nexus, and zero mana. The objective of the game is to bring the opponent's Nexus to zero health points.

You're definitely not too harsh. I completely agree with everything you said. Problems are problems. They need to be addressed so that people can have more joy, joy that they deserve playing the game. Thanks for making this video so that more people can see this!

Hey guys, if I came across as very harsh or bitter in this video, I'm really sorry 😅. It's not my intention. I think I got a little too fired up when making this one.

I do realize that the last expansion is still relatively recent, however, I still belice this is a problem in the game that needs to be addressed, and I'm severely disappointed that it's on the backseat.

Completely agree. It's absolutely ridiculous. I literally only found out from your video that Galeforce can't be obtained through the reliquaries. Crazy! I've been holding out hope to get that relic but apparently they just decided to kill it completely if you missed the event. I'm still lacking some rare relics that's widely used like Troll King's Crown when I've been playing everyday for the past 4 months. Part of the fun is being able to make builds so I can't understand why they would do this. They say they want to money off this but there isn't really any option for that regarding relics and upgrade shards I'm 100% willing to drop money because I think this mode is great.

I can't understand why fragment conversion is so ridiculous, 5/1 isn't even close to being reasonable. It's almost as if Riot purposely wanted to make shards difficult to obtain in order to frustrate players. I really like the POC, but sometimes it feels like Riot is trying so hard to self-sabotage, I just can't understand why it's so hard for them to listen to players.

I completely agree with everything you said in the video.

Path of champions should also have a skip animations option. Since there is no PVP, it does not cause any problems and speeds up the game.

I agree with your criticisms. Especially for new players coming in, this is a major issue. The amount of time it takes to grind for a champion and level them up is ridiculous, with how limited resources are for gaining. Not just for relics.

I've tried to convince a couple people to play this, but they always give up after about a week (sometimes a little more, sometimes lees) when they see how bad the grind is going to be.

At the start, new players care less about the relics and more about the Champs. And while champ variety is awesome, not giving more ways to gain resources makes that champ variety mean there's far lower chance of earning a desired champ.

Which is why wild fragments exist, yes. However....again, there is a HARD cap on how many wild fragments you can get per day. Making it pointless to play it more than that per day, as a new player. Which is one of the worst things you want a new player to feel.

I personally feel a chance to infinitely earn 'small' number of resources per run would majorly solve this issue.

They don't even have to be wild fragments. Maybe a run earns you a single random shard at low levels, with high levels earning you 2 or 3 single shards.

And have a collection system occur where if you earn a shard towards a maxed out character, it goes into a pool, where after you've earned 5 ofcharacters that have been maxed out, you get a wild shard.

If you can get shards every run, it will greatly boost the desire for new players to stick around and not feel overwhelmed by how much grinding is needed to get the Champs they want.

After that, then they can work on relic systems for the vets.

btw, been playing PoC constantly from since it came out;
completed all the quests on every event and every weekly adventure, unlocked all champions, 98 stars, 880 lvls, beat A-Sol with half the champs;
and still I can't find 3 relics: 'Corrupted Star Fragment', 'Golden Spatula' and 'Troll Kings Crown'

The worst thing is clearing some massive 4.5 star battle and all I get is 2 fragment shards from auto-converting my 7th copy of the same damn relic items.

The recent pass gave a lot of relics which surprised me. I had them all but still cool. Also significantly more shards since it's three champs. Problem is not everyone pays for the passes especially if you're like me and just holds coins on the account until something looks cool.

Easiest fix would be giving one shard with daily missions because exp means absolutely nothing once you do the tutorial card things. They can also introduce a wishlist if really up for it. Basically like other gacha games where players choose like 5 or 10 things that are in the random pool instead of being truly random. I understand doing that would take a full overhaul and may cause bugs however.

The recent missions giving three rare relics is nice ngl. New players will absolutely be able to at least get a new champ to level 12. I can see they tried multiple solutions this event but none are as good since rng screws most players over.

Also I got Gatebreaker in the pool recently. It's there apparently.

Oh I didn't know galeforce is confirmed that it can't drop! I've started playing last august and I am missing so many rare relics, thanks for the confirmation.

So many people avoid path because it's so grindy and this problem with shards only makes it worse.

I've played hundreds of hours of PoC and I still have 3 locked champions and several 1 and 2 stars. The stingy acquisition system makes the game less fun by making it harder to pick up new champions and learn new playstyles, which is the main reason why the mode is so replayable and fun.

Either there needs to be full duplication protection for capsules or the wild fragment conversion rates need to be increased. Getting 1 wild fragment for a duplicate relic is a slap in the face.

For some reason Jhin loves me, and I have him 3 star since the realease of the game cuz the game just gave all fragments of him. But last week I got 30 more fragments for him, and felt so sad it got turn into 6 wild fragments, I mean :( come on it was a gold reliquary

I agree with this whole video, but I also wanted to add that the current monthly challenges... Well, how do I put it... That they're not worth doing because there's no rewards. I was thinking that maybe the rewards could help but there's nothing... I do it whenever I have time but like... I don't want to grind 70 challenges that get harder and harder for nothing. I was excited for the monthly challenges until I found out about getting nothing. Idk. I love PoC. It's what I mainly play now on LoR and I just wish it would be easier to grind for XP on leveling champs along with getting them to 3 stars.

istg i prob have gotten 10+ wriggle's lantern. It only shows that i have 3 now, it did show 5 once, but im pretty sure its 10+ at this point. I dont get any fragments or other relics from it. I started a while ago and i dont have most of the relics that i want. I always get that damn lantern. And for champ fragments, i do get jax and yi (the only 2 i have on 3 stars) like 80%-90% of the time. So i totaly agree with you, 100%

For me it’s clearly not a problem of greed or sadism from the devs, because in that case they would make everything purchasable with coins and we would purchase them with real money even if it doesn’t feel great.

I think they just don’t understand that this is a big issue. I don’t know how they don’t understand it though. It’s clear that barring us completely feels worse than “forcing” us to purchase stuff with coins.

So, since they don’t do this out of greed, i guess the reason is that they fear that we will “100% finish” PoC and lose interest. But in that case i think the solution is just to give us more legend levels to grind + the possibility to deactivate some of our buffs to make runs more difficult when we want a challenge. (And of course the monthlies fix that issue already too.)

I don’t see any good reason for the lack of duplicate protection.

I now need a Shurima and Targon character and a Freljord character to complete the sixth path quests. And to complete the tasks, you need to complete 3 star Thresh on a 0-1 star character. From this it follows that in order for me to complete these tasks, I need to play for another 2-3 weeks to unlock Nasus (20 fragments are already there) and Orn (also already have 20 fragments), and Targon (there is Leona, but without two stars to play on it I don’t feel like it, so I’ll save up for Diana (but I have 0 fragments for her)). Without a battle pass, getting new characters is clearly more difficult.

They need to give us more ways to get champion/wild shards and also change the conversion rate on champions u already have on 3 stars, weekly adventures should give platinum vaults or a gold at least, the weekly vault should give stuff for poc also since we can upgrade it by playin poc but it just gives stuff for the pvp mode
