RIOT PLEASE, NOT AGAIN...

Not the first time, not the second time we have something like this...
Riot PLEASE, do something about it.

This happened to me earlier. If someone uses the message and it crashes on your end, quickly open the settings outside of the game and set the chat to premade only.
That way, the next time you load in, you won't see the message, and it won't crash again.

it's unfortunate that the game is made by a small company, if they had the budget they would be able to patch these things up quick and easy, same as their client😞

There's also a bug where your client gets stuck on the "accept queue" screen after hitting accept. As an ARAM enjoyer it forces grasp and scorch (?) on the first champ you get but on the loading screen it shows no runes. In ranked it makes you dodge as you can't lock in your champ.
Only way to fix it I found was to completely terminate any lol related process and relaunching it. Just simply reopening the client puts you on a blank "unknown player" screen

For those who sees this video and keeps their chat on, remember you can disable chat through the Client by going to the settings in the top right corner > Interface > Change Chat Visibility to Premade Only

Isnt this enough proof that league should be rebuilt from the ground up? I know Riot doesnt care about such little things like the game actually working, but the fact that a text message can completely crash a game is embarassing. With the amount of bugs in this game there is no solution other than remaking the game with an up-to-date working code

This happened to me too, but for some reason my game did not crash even though I saw the message. My fps dropped for the whole game. normally i have around 200 but after the message my fps was around 80. I love riot spaghetti code.

If you bump up your resolution to 2k, the crashes won't affect you (if sent from all chat), if they are direct messages, they will crash you, but you can re-join the lobby. Not sure what it is about the resolution that causes the messages not to crash you. (or at least the specific message we tested in a custom game)
