Lex Luger had a bettter run in WCW than the WWE. Lex had a better NWA run than the WWE.

Luger was in the WWF in an era where Luger and friends celebrated a count-out victory with balloons, Doink was turned babyface to sell merchandise, Randy Savage was forced out because he was too old, Kevin Nash became champion before he was ready (and buried Bob Backlund's huge, shocking win in the process), The Undertaker faced Giant Gonzalez and King Kong Bundy at Wrestlemania, Mabel won King of the Ring, Yokozuna ate himself to death because his gimmick and career depended on him being over 500 pounds, and countless other creative atrocities.

Don't blame Lex Luger for WWF 1993-1996.

The reason he didn't have any interest was because he had another 18 months to go on his Time Warner contract. He wasn't going to accept a fifty cents on the dollar buyout. All the big names had those contracts and Vince had no interest in picking them up.

Lex was a top guy everywhere he went. JR may be letting personal feelings cloud his judgment of Lex.

At a certain point you start to wonder if JR had interest in any guys that weren't Dr. Death

Luger was good during his time but by 2001 he wasnt the same. His last good year was 97. 98 he was still popular because he joined the Wolfpack but once he turned heel in 99 it was over. He wouldn't even had fit with the WWF at that time anyway

JR and Flair have been less than high on Lex Luger, but Luger was solid and Soo much better than most everyone they have now

Luger was a star everywhere he went with the casual fans.

Lex had a great career PWI ROY in 86, he held titles all over, a Crockett Cup champ and co-winner of the Royal Rumble, the man who pinned Hulk Hogan on TV, and good matches for the NWA World Title vs Ric Flair, Lugar had success all over not just in WWE like some guys, in WCW he took Ric Flair place as champ and later in WWF he had to to take Hulk Hogan place, only a big talent could do that and Lugar with Harley was cool and so was the Lex Express, A three-time world champ and he beat Hogan for one of them, and he had a rookie year on the Kurt Angle Randy Orton level, he held tag gold in WCW and NWA, Lugar and Flair were the Dream Team and Lugar was a Four Horseman, bottom line Lugar was a big-time talent, not just a WWE one knocker like some, Lugar was the Total Package.

Honestly, as much trouble as Lex would have been, he would have added a much-needed big name and body to the invasion angle.

Lex vs Hogan in wcw for the belt was huge. He was always over in wcw nitro era. He also would have been a great wwe pickup after wcw was bought. Unfortunately if you screw vince he doesn't forget. Lex obviously should be in the Hall of Fame too

If Vince could have cooled his jets and postponed the invasion angle, he could have brought Luger back into WWE. Once Lex returns, Vince could have gotten Sting. Those two were vital to making the invasion angle work.

Lex, Steiners, DDP, and Flair were WCW guys……..
Foley described Luger best on the Roundtable discussion. “He had a lot of great matches with Flair. Flair is capable of a lot of things, but Luger was carrying his end of the bargain.”

I love JR and Cornette but I've never heard them say anything about Dr Death's steroid use. He didn't look like Lex but he was definitely "juiced to the gills".

I love WWE
But WWE letting Luger slip
Away is the thing
That makes me
The most angry.
Luger vs Austin
Luger vs Rock
Luger vs HHH
LUGER vs Batista
Luger vs Cena
We never got 1 of those matches.

A 2nd Lex Run would have been Solid Lex Vs Rock or Lex Vs Austin could have sold if done Right but i mean WWE Did Minimize WCW Guys Like DDP and Booker T

Ok, so in an alternate universe. WWE signs Luger once WCW folds, but instead of him appearing on the last episode of Monday Night Nitro, he shows up on RAW instead, just standing there watching… just like he did in his “surprise” jump from WWF to WCW. 🤔🤔😂😂

Jim seems to have some bone to pick with lex...he just buries people...love jr but doesnt seem any different than the double crossers in the wrasslin business he talks about sometimes...even conrad who i love...love both these guys...but without Ric, to them Sting or Lex were nothing ...thats simply not true...Ric's a little overrated if you ask me...
