Sting was one of the few wrestlers that didn’t need Vince McMahon to have a long and successful career

Sting is my all time favorite wrestler. I had the flat top and “rat tail” and thought I was the shit when I was a kid.

I wish Sting would've never went to WWE

WWE ruined Stinger, just like they ruined everyone that was not strictly created by WWE. WWE would have probably made Sting a plumber back in the 80’s.

Hogan would of gotten sting buried and we would of missed out on a great wrestler.

Sting might not have gotten over as quickly but would have stayed on top for 15 years without all the nonsense Warrior did.

Warrior was a great pick for WWE, but Sting was clearly the more talented of the two. Vince would have drawn big money with Sting in his prime.

I think both guys were tailor made for their respective promotions. Warrior WAS the right and ONLY guy who could play UW the way he did, in the company that had the best production to produce that character the way it needed to be. The music, the entrance, the promos, the mannerisms, the UW was perfect for the WWF machine. His matches weren’t supposed to be classics, just go in and destroy, and he wasn’t the only ‘bad’ in ring worker in the WWF. Hercules was very basic, too. Over in NWA/WCW, Sting WAS the better in ring worker in the promotion more ‘wrestling based’, where Flair and Windham and Arn could lead, but he holds up his end while putting on better matches than Warrior. Sting also didn’t have the intensity and body of Warrior. Sting in the WWF and Warrior in WCW? No. Both guys were where they needed to be. Warrior needed that Vince marketing, and Sting headlining for WWF against Hogan in MSG, he wouldn’t do it like Hellwig would

The difference between the Warrior and Sting is ... Sting learned to wrestle ...

I remember Ultimate Warrior from the WCCW days when he called himself "Dingo Warrior" . Sting was "gem" back in the NWA days, the hair cut, the physique and the charisma. .. Different men however, one was willing to learn like JR said, I only heard maybe two wrestlers say something negative about Sting .but overall, I think Sting had the right attitude about the business.

The WWF needed the Ultimate Warrior. Hate or love him his impact as a character was immeasurable.

Warrior to WCW and Sting to WWF would’ve literally killed off WCW.

Ultimate Warrior was a perfect match for the WWF.

Lv Warrior but his whole gimmick was flash. Sting was a better wrestler

If I had to choose between the two I'd definitely pick Sting. He had the same type of physique, had good looks and had tons of charisma. The areas I felt he was superior in is ring work, mic skills, personality, longevity and getting along with others. You never hear anyone say a bad thing about Sting other then his character in the 80s was better chasing after the title and getting screwed over by the cheating in the end then him actually winning it, for a big guy he was able to go in the ring and showed off some great athleticism, he was able to make promos that actually told a story and exhibited different emotions when the story called for it, never tried to angle anyone for a big pay day, politiced his way into bigger storylines or no showed events and his in ring career lasted much longer then warriors

The better scenario would have been if Sting had came to WWE instead of Luger. Imagine the push he could have got with Hogan mostly out of the picture. And the matches he could of had with a in his prime Bret Hart, as well as Undertaker, Mick Foley, Yokozuna. Conversely, with him in WWE, there wouldn't have been the Crow Sting to battle the NWO. NWO got to its peak of popularity when they were battling againts Crow Sting. Without him in WCW, their brand wouldn't have been as popualr. A double win for Vince.

I agree mostly with JR. Sting benefited from Flair and so many others to mention.... Warrior and Sting were my Favorite and were as over with me as any wrestler ever. I never knew back scene stuff and glad I didn't. Eh.

He did get better, and worked to the quality of opponent..his WM7 and SS92 matches w Savage were good.Meanwhile, Hogan and Flair had some absolute stinkers..overbooked and underworked imo.. Sting is WCW..he would not have been treated as well in WWF .However early 90s Sting vs early 90s Bret would have been awesome!
