Its sad that Vhagar and Meleys had to meet like this. Who once flew alongside together with the couple Balon and Alyssa Targaryen, their riders. The Dance of the Dragons, what a tragedy, at the end of the day i only ever cared about the dragons really, everyone can suck it esp those who took part in the storming of the dragonpit.

Not gonna lie Aegon has balls of valyrian steel to fight THAT with a smaller, slower, weaker dragon . Meleys is scarier then Caraxes and that says something . Possibly more powerful too

It's literally a miracle how Aegon and Sunfyre survived these injuries.

A lot of people in the comments here be disrespecting Aegon and Sunfyre…they were taking on a dragon twice the size of Sunfyre and a rider far more experienced than Aegon. I don’t think people realise just how amazing of a dragon Sunfyre actually was, he had that dawg in him, literally going toe to toe with Meleys (a dragon with like 60 years on him) alone for awhile. Then later Sunfyre despite being badly injured from the fight with Meleys and with a twisted wing, killed the wild dragon Grey Ghost, then afterwards he killed and ate Moondancer another dragon with a rider…again while injured.

Sunfyre may not be as large as Vhagar but that dragon had a heart larger than Balerion The Black Dread, he was a menace. In my opinion, Sunfyre was one of the greatest dragons that ever lived during the Targaryen Dynasty.

Whoever says Rhaenys was badass here should take note that it was solely because of Meleys being an older dragon than sunfyre and not to mention that Meleys was the fastest dragon at that time. So Aemond had to come in Aegon’s assistance.
