Aemond is much smarter than everyone thinks. He wants the throne more than anything, but he still chases his older brother down and makes him take the crown. Why? Because he understands a war for the succession is about to start, during which time the king will have a massive target on his back and a crushing mountain of responsibilities. Aemond hopes to avoid all that, and then take the crown after Aegon, Rhaenyra, and Daemon are all dead. He’s plotting and scheming like a villain at such a young age, plus he’s the most badass looking character on the show.
