I've had to compensate for this problem for as long as I can remember. Still have to sometimes think 'wright with right hand' and even worse is turning some things off that are not in front of me, like a tap or a tightening or removing a bolt hidden behind or under something ''Lefty Loosey Righty Tighty' goes off in my head first. I don't seem to do it with any other aspect of my life and don't switch numbers or letters around.
My Dad never criticized me for anything but always remember the one time when I was an adult and he questioned why I didn't realize taps turned off and on a certain way every time?
Wish he was still around so I could show him the bathroom cold water sink tap that turned off in the opposite direction in the hotel I just stayed in.

I have this problem my whole life. First I noticed it in kindergarten. Also I remember my driving lessons. The instructor told me to turn left or right, and I was doing the opposite or at least I was confused which way to go.

Some people are born right handed and some left handed, and it is dependent on the genes.

Even when I concentrate mentally, my body action sometimes reverses right to left, and left to right. My thought is correct, but the body reacts in the reverse without realizing it is reversed. If I’m riding a bike, and think “turn right, ” and I double check my right hand reminders, my body might still turn the bike left and think it’s doing the correct action. I don’t think this video addresses this version of the problem. I’ve been like this for 60 years, but once I became aware of it when I was young, I could learn to overcome it, so I never have had an accident driving. Can’t dance, though.

It is baffling to me how most people can differentiate their left from their right as though it were up and down. I've been made fun of my whole life for confusing my lefts from my rights. "Turn left here" I'd proceed to turn right... "No!! Your other left!" I'm convinced that knowing your right from your left is a superpower that I will just never have.

Im a lefty and was born adjusting to right hand people so when they tell me left or right yeah its a tough one im working on it. I know what left is and know what right is but reacting to it naturally does not work i need to focus on it
