#9 is a fact..there is nothing more frustrating than trying to communicate with someone who doesn't have the capacity to understand what your telling them.. I've learned not to spend time rehashing with those who can't grasp the basics

Simply put, being smart can be, and often is, very painful...

When you understand things better than other people do - you understand how screwed up the world really is - it is depressing.

I fnd it rare to meet someone with whom to talk about ideas, without the person wanting to win more than trying to evaluate together. 😞

I've lived with these problems in various degrees for most of my life. Now, at 75, I understand why. Thank you. Maybe there's something to the saying that "ignorance is bliss."

Sometimes I want to be just average just for that peace of mind once in a while, not having the urge to solve things, to analyse everything till the bone

Every time someone has accused me of being smart, I tell them that I have a long list of things that I have done that would prove them wrong.

I was identified as having a "superior intellect" rather early in my life, and it has made my life a living nightmare. My school life was a constant struggle to keep up with my own expectations of doing well in tests and exams. My crippling perfectionism has all but killed my artistic motivation. As I grew older I my clinical depression manifested which only made the insane pressure of living just that more difficult to achieve. Knowing you're smarter than the people around you, yet seeing those people become more successful in life than you are, doesn't help much with the increasing feelings of inadequacy you experience as you struggle to keep yourself from drowning.

In short, be thankful for being dumb. Your life is much easier.

I actually love being well above average intelligence. But I also notice when others are smarter than me and I feel insecure around them.

Introversion doesn't mean you have to be socially awkward or socially inept. It just means you are more introspective and prefer to be alone or to have alone time.

This was a very interesting and informative video. A lot of the reasons for the characteristics make a lot of sense. I'm glad I don't suffer from perfectionism or allergies or asthma, but stress, analyzing situations, and worrying are definitely problems I deal with. My father seems to be extremely uncomfortable in social situations, and it makes sense to me why that is now. He even purchased his brother-in-law some magazine subscriptions so they would have more to talk about, but he wasn't interested in reading the magazines, which was so frustrating for my father.

Thank you. They are right on. Being smart still has its advantages if you can adapt in certain situations.
