Our hummus recipe without tahini maintains the creamy texture of traditional Hummus and a rich and full flavor.

Tahini-free Hummus can be thin and bland if done incorrectly. This simple and versatile recipe shows you how to make it taste delicious with simple ingredients like olive oil, onion, garlic, and rosemary.

INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil + more for drizzling on the hummus
1 medium onion chopped
1 clove garlic pressed
½ teaspoon dried rosemary or ground cumin
2 cans (15 ounces each) (460 grams) chickpeas drained, or 3 cups cooked chickpeas
3 tablespoons lemon juice or more to taste
½ teaspoon salt or more to taste
1 cup cold water add more until you reach your desired consistency
2 pinches parsley chopped

SERVES WELL WITH
1 warm pita bread

You're on it Nico, I haven't made Hummus at home, because making tahini, involves extra work, buying the sesame seeds, roasting them and while the Hummus with Tahini is so GOOD, this is an option that makes life easier for us. I make a sweet hummus when I run out of peanut butter. Chickpeas, water, honey or maple syrup. Blend until smooth adding water to the consistency you like.
Spread on favorite bread. Use as a dip for both fruit and vegetables.
We love it spread on a whole wheat tortilla with sliced bananas and strawberries like a fruit burrito.
