When I first got with my significant other I thought he was pulling me away from God but the fact that he pulled me away and try to isolate me and things of that nature it actually made me closer to God I got closer to Jesus then I've ever been by being life-altering pain and situation. So yes I did find Jesus stumbling around in the dark
