People worry these things will die off with the induction of such an increasingly digital generation.
However, with videos such as this, saved forever online (hopefully) this knowledge will never die!
I don't know where this channel came from, but I'm glad I fed the algorithm enough info to see this channel everytime I'm on YT

A quality pair of shears truly will last lifetimes. I have a pair that is over 200 years old and still in regular use.

Videos like this just make me realise how little my "parents" and "family" actually taught me about life, im glad there are some people out there who were lucky enough to have such a positive father figure growing up andnthat this information is free for all to watch

Just did this to grandma's shears. My uncle just spread her ashes with grandpa up at bible camp. Still remember here using them to cut bandages for all of us crazy kids. God bless

In my typical east coaster journeyman homeowner, I sharpened a chisel to work on a project today. I used the leatherman file to sharpen the chisel. Then proceeded to manufacture a stand for a hose bib. Upon finishing it broke. I was so happy I spent two hours before work to accomplish nothing of any utility. But I do have a semi sharp chisel now.

I love the fact that you still have all of your Granddads tools and your plan to pass on all of the tools to your son one day. I still have a few of my Grandfather's tools. I still think of him whenever I use them. Thanks again W

I’m loving these little clips you do for homeowner hacks. Lots of good info for a generation that would otherwise never hear it. I just hope that at least some of your viewers are that generation that needs to see it. Thanks bud.

I never thought I'd see the day that a man would be so interesting that he would even be able to make sharpening a pair of scissors have my undivided attention.well done, sir, well done.

I love your channel. Honest, intelligent and humble....you are definitely a diamond in the rough and like you, I love sharing the knowledge. To that end, I'm a master carpenter and have tons of leftover sandpaper scraps. For a quick sharpen in the middle of a project, I grab some medium to fine scraps and literally cut the shears sharp.

We always created a bur by gapping the blades once assembled and then opening them with hard pressure pushing them together. We'd do this a few times. It was a technique taught to us by some Austrian leather workers. Great vids!

My grandfather recently passed away, it's been a joy to go through his tools as I'm the only male grandchild I was given his tools.
I will be giving them to my children & will eventually get around to restoring them all! With help from your videos ofcourse

By the way....I never thanked you...the F250 ball joint vid....best mechanic advice I ever watched....it's been 10 years for sure.

Your advice to go out and buy the proper tools...make your own install parts, the press from Harbour Freight, etc....dude you made my life so much easier.

Thank you x 100!!!

I've got a couple of old sets, too bad we live in a disposable tool culture right now.

I quickly snatched a pair of these vintage shear scissors at a yard sale. A little sharpening and went up in my tool collection. Love the feel of simple quality built items like these
