I had 4 in 1 implant surgery, They had to remove 8 teeth in the bottom, When I came home I was in pure sheer agony. I went back to the office the next morning, where they re adjusted a few teeth that were biting my tongue on both sides. I could hardly swallow, my throat was on fire so was my tongue, my palate, my whole mouth. It is now a week, and I am a bit better, but not ready for work. I dont beleive that these doctors say there is no pain afterwards. A lot a lot of pain.

I had all-in-4 dental implants four months ago, and I have extremely low pain tolerance. I am super extra sensitive to pain and I found the first two weeks "challenging" to say the least. The doctor prescribed 5 mg oxycodone for 5 days (how generous....NOT) which I literally had to beg him to give me, but that small amount did nothing for the pain I was in. So I had no choice except to continue on the Tylenol/ibuprofen protocol they advised for four weeks, and I made it through. The doctor could have easily covered a significant portion of my pain by prescribing 10-20 mg Oxycodone, but doctors are terrified to prescribe narcotics these days. Sometimes, as in this case, they are absolutely needed. Much of the pain I had the first two weeks could have been avoided had they prescribed the medication necessary. My face was black and blue and I was in considerable pain. But I made it gorgeous teeth and never having to go to the dentist again are worth it in the

The pain is alot. Majority of people will face extreme pain afterwards and only a very few lucky people will face minimum pain. I am on day 5 now and the pain is still extreme at times. Sometimes i think if i really new how much pain i would be in would i of gone though this difficult procedure????

I am just completing day four after removal of 13 teeth, and placement of all on four arches, upper and lower. Do NOT underestimate the pain with this procedure. The pain has been at times agonizing, but controllable with medication and ice packs. I would do it again, but I think people should be council better on what to expect.

I just had my All on 4, or rather, all on 5... a spare implant placed just in case, done on my bottom teeth on 15 December, 2021. Today on the 19th December makes 4 days since my surgery, and I am in horrible pain, in spite of taking pain medication. Not what I was expecting. I also had two teeth extracted at that time. All my other lower teeth had been removed prior to surgery months before, and bone grafts done. I also have 2 Huge Black and Blue marks on the bottom of my chin that look absolutely horrible. My face is swollen, and it is hard to swallow any liquids period. For anyone to suggest that the pain is minimal is pure fiction! On the flip side, they say the pain should subside within 2 weeks, so that is good to know. I can't wait for the pain to go away. Right now I am miserable.

Came here to see if my fiance is just being dramatic. The comments confirm that these doctors lie. He just had to get a stronger prescription. It will be a week tomorrow. Don't listen to them!

It's 2023 guys, if you feel pain at your dentist, it's time to move to a new one, simple as that. :) Today's procedures are heavily aimed to make it painless, no matter what you gonna do, and microsurgery will contain any post-operatory pain. If you believe that "working in mouth" is like in the 80's, where the pain was something to accept, because it was how it was, you're wrong, today every "modern" medic priority is to make it like as painless as it could be, because it's in their interest: smoothest it is, more customers they will gain.
If you're experience every kind of pain at your dentist, it means that he's not up with the modern procedures and it's time to look elsewhere (and unfortunately, many times it's a matter of money...).
