This is the very same crew she imperilled in the first place by sailing her ship onto a reef.

The NZ Navy apparently appointed four female captains around the same time. Obviously this was entirely on merit and was NOTHING to do with box ticking. 🤣 Since then, one sailed her ship into a harbour wall, another was suspended for alleged bad conduct, and now Captain Calamity has sunk their most modern and expensive vessel. Presumably the fourth one has been put in charge of a rowing boat so she can't do any more damage.

I read an article recently, about a group of Australian firewoman, they were demonstrating their fire fighting skills & set fire to a small barn & attempted to put it out, the barn burnt to the ground & a second barn caught fire, fearing for a nearby farm they then called in a fire team of men, who then put out the fires & dealt with the aftermath.

There's a reason for a Meritocracy. Experience, Qualifications, Proven Ability to do the job. The ship wasn't on fire or sinking when she gave the order to abandon it. They left the engines running and it caught fire and sank when the crew was ashore ! After she grounded the ship, the situation was still completely salvageable but she panicked and ordered evacuation, leading to the fire/sinking/loss of the ship. Good Luck with the Insurers, who will pinpoint every failure chronologically and refuse the claim.
