How To Make Yogurt In Your Instant Pot!

Hello Friends!
A lot of you have been asking for more Instant Pot recipes, and specifically, how to make yogurt in your IP. Here’s how I do it.
The key is using a non-dairy milk that does not have any thickeners in it. I use a brand that has only soybeans and water. Added thickeners will prevent your yogurt from culturing and it will be a separated mess….trust me I’ve learned that the hard way 😳.
I add about one litre of soy milk to a mixing bowl.
Add two tablespoons of any yogurt I have in the fridge, OR if I don’t have any, I open two probiotic capsules and pour the contents into the milk. Give that a really good wisk.
I like mine flavoured so I add a tablespoon of vanilla or maple extract and two tablespoons of maple syrup. If you want yours plain, leave that out.
Pour into jars, OR into the bowl of the IP and put the lid on.
Set the valve to ‘Venting’ and then press the Yogurt button. You can adjust the time, anywhere from 8 hours to 12. I like a tarter yogurt so I use 12.
When it’s done it will beep and you can put the lids on the jars and put them in the fridge.
If you want a thicker yogurt, line a strainer with a coffee filter and put that over a bowl, covered, into the fridge for a few hours or over night. Then you can scoop that out of the filter and store in a container in the fridge. You’ll be surprised by how much water you’ll find in the bottom of the bowl.
If you want to add fruit to your yogurt, do that AFTER it has cultured, just before you put it into the fridge.
