Traditonal British Fruit Scone Recipe & Tutoria For Beginners

Here's some of the tools/equipment I used in this tutorial:

Ingredients:

450g of Self Raising Flour
2 heaped teaspoons of Baking Powder
50g of Caster Sugar
75g butter
95g of Raisins (or you don't need to add dried fruit)
2 eggs
225ml of Milk

Use 5 to 6cm scone cutter

place into preheated oven on 220 (200 if fan assisted) Gas Mark 7
for 8 to 12 minutes (or until golden brown)

I really need to make my own instead of supermarket ones, M&S are pretty good but not as good as any home made I’ve ever had, this recipe looks easy to follow, I really will give it a try 👍🏻

Lovely scones . Thanks for painfully going through the method slowly for beginners. I missed thr English Scones for tea. Back in Singapore now. Thus learning to make these dcones fof tea breaks.😀💗❤❤Appreciate . Yummy !!

Tried this using buttermilk, and substituted raw unpasteurized honey adding it to the buttermilk and eggs; more flour can compensate for the absence of the sugar which is not very healthy; it worked out great; went through several recipes over the last few days; picked this one over dozens of others and glad I did Thanks very much for posting this!

Hello Mrs baker, l watched your video on making scones for beginners quite a few times. So decided to have a go myself. I did OK until it came to rolling my mixture out as l dont have a rolling pin. So l used my hands to flatten it out, and went to far, so my scones didn't rise much. Thee other mistake l made was cooking them for 12 minutes, and they was very dry inside. I shall try again as l am a man of 74 years, and done no baking before. Rgs mick enjoyed ya videos.

Lovely yummy video dear baker friend😊! My late mother did so love scones😋. She introduced me to them some thirty years ago after she had vacationed in the UK a few times. Your video is historically & baking informative, and your voice soothing & sweet🌷❣️

Hi, after having a great success with the cheese scones, i am very sad to say that the fruit scones were a disappointment, I dont know what i did wrong ?! I followed your instructions and recipe to the letter but they did not rise very much and were quite dry and crumbly. I would appreciate your advise on what I could have done wrong. 😢
