British scones #shorts

In the video today we will make some classic British scones with cranberries and chopped up pistachio nuts. These are simple to make fluffy and the perfect treat for tea time . Thanks for watching and for more delicious British recipes please check out the channel.

Ingredients
225g Flour
50g Butter
25g Sugar
1tsp Baking Powder
1 egg
100-120ml milk
Pinch of salt
½ cup of cranberries (you could use any variety of dried fruit, have fun experimenting with different fruits)
1/3 cup chopped up pistachio nuts (you can use different nuts, another personal favourite of mine are walnuts)

Serve with
Strawberry Jam,
Whipped cream or clotted cream
And a cup of tea!

Preheat oven 200c then cook 200c for 12-15min until golden brown

Hello Aunty, thanks a bunch for this recipe. My husband is an mcaa chef and coinnesseur of scones. Infact, his town in Tasmania is famous for them and has a renouned world scone champion from there (Sheffield ~ the Petersons).

I've never used eggs in scones, that's interesting, might try.

I've always just used SR flour, baking powder, lemon, vanilla, salt, butter, milk, and use egg only as a wash

I found my scones raised batter if I put flour on the scone cutter and don't twist it but just put it into it and tear the dough away from around the edge. This way the scone will raise perfectly

Is this recipe anywhere? Only thing is hard to know the measurements so hard to change to cups spoons.

When you twist the cutter does that prevent the scone from rising higher? I'm told with busquits do not twist the cutter

I already try the recipes but it ‘s not ok because the inside is not fluffy and on the next day its quite hard😍😍but its ok lw ill try again next time😅
