Let’s talk about why you should sweat more often.

The purpose of sweat is to control your body’s temperature. It’s a survival strategy that helps prevent things like heat stroke.

The average person consumes 3300 mg of sodium a day and 2600 mg of potassium every day. However, the average person actually needs 2300 mg of sodium and 4700 mg of potassium. Only 5% of the population actually gets 4700 mg of potassium a day.

However, the ratios are more important than the individual numbers. For example, if you’re not getting enough potassium, you need to make sure you don’t consume a lot of sodium. If you consume more sodium, you need to consume more potassium.

These ratios are especially important for the cardiovascular system. This is why I created my Electrolyte Powder product. It’s high in potassium and low in sodium to help correct this imbalance.

Sweating can help you:
1. Balance your potassium and sodium ratio and support a healthy cardiovascular system
2. Release certain toxins
3. Sleep better
4. Have more energy
5. Increase circulation and prevent overheating
6. Support your neurons by creating a hormetic effect
7. Support your adrenal glands

Finally someone has confirmed my suspicion that sweat from being in fear smells different, I was dealing with PSTD while trying to get back into the workforce and my Doctor thought I was faking it to get social security benefits. While I was stressed out of my mind trying to hold down a job I smelt terrible though I never had this problem before.

I had adult acne all my life and the dermatologist tried everything to stop it. I kept telling my GP that I don't sweat enough and she said I was fine. I bought a portable pop-up FIR sauna and sat in it 3-4x/week for 20 min each time and in 9 months my acne was almost gone. Sweating is very important for our bodies and I continue to sit in my sauna even on the hot humid summer days.

Hey Dr. Berg, thanks a lot for your videos and for sharing your knowledge! Here are some of my ideas of videos that you might consider
- skipping Breakfast vs skipping Dinner (differences, pros and cons)
- diet + exercise specifically for very lean people (no fat loss, but building lean body weight)
- Keto on a budget: a tierlist of foods being healthy but cheap at the same time

I started using cream of tartar where I can, in stevia lemonade mostly, and my blood potassium levels are 4.3mmol/L (Just got it tested.)
Below 3.5 is low, above 5 is high.

Sweat is also a way of your body detoxing. Doesn't worry me at all. Sweat is your body losing water and sodium and so most people rehydrate with only water and you will be low in sodium. Another doctor said don't worry about having too much salt, you should rather be worried about not getting enough.

Thank you so much for sharing all this information Dr Berg, your work is amazing. Sweating can be messy and stinky, but it's also your body's natural cooling mechanism.

Fascinating Dr. Berg. Great information. Perfect timing for this subject because of the heat outdoors.

Dang, I swear I would switch to Dr. Berg to be my actual physician if he would offer internet based medical services - his detailed explanation for EVERY SINGLE THING HE POSTS has helped me so much more than any and all of the in person doctor visits or hospital trips!

When I sweat, I just spray some water with a little baking soda to neutralize the smell and bust any stains. Works well!

Hi Doc, I love your videos!
You might add that sweat from physical excercise is good for the skin. It's a natural desinfectant that clears up the skin, so it's good for acne. But it also regulates the oil glands, thus helping in case you have dry skin.

Was having some brain fog issues recently but when it got summer-hot here daily (90°+) the problem cleared up. Guessing, because I've been exercising outdoors & setting the house AC temp at 80°. Can't stand the heat & sweating but trying a mind-over-matter approach to deal with it. And it's true, sweating does keep you cooler if you stop a moment to notice. (Years ago had a bad heat stroke episode & since then dreaded hot weather. Finally decided to deal with it. Hiding inside all summer is not healthy.)

Hello Dr Berg.. you are a life changer... I have something to input to your collection of research on gut health... I have gastro cardiac gut inflammation and irregular heart beats have plagued my life, your videos have helped me recover.. I refused to take the blood thinners and other life ruining medications Doctors wanted to put me on, rather than finding the root of my condition, the doctors even wanted to install a Watchman in my the cause of my arrythmia were to get to the point.... pro biotics, leafy greens, high proteins, keto and intermittent fasting stopped all the cardiac symptoms.... But the one thing, that triggered my body to allow the change and stop the inflammation for my gut to start healing within 12 hrs was taking Claritin Reditabs.... they melt in your mouth so no gut stress. I took at 4 p.m and woke up and the knife in my stomach was gone, the bloated inflammed feeling was greatly reduced, by 24hrs was gone, and was on my way to feeling like I was a human being again, not a person with a death but without your videos and inspiration, I would be a medicated fool... The fact is Doctors don't know you or your body.. They have a desk full of medication they throw at your symptoms, not cures for it... the key is to observe your body and what the foods and beverages you put in it make you feel, and listen to your body, I would rather die, knowing it was by my own faults, rather than dying from a strangers advice who is supposed to be an expert but is only an advocate for pharma that doesnt masks my conditions to allow me to get sicker more comfortably...
