I had a small lump on one of my labia. It suddenly grew and got very painful. Turns out it was a malignant tumour. The whole labia was removed because they wanted to make sure all of the tumour was removed. They also removed the node on my groin directly beside the tumour and did a biopsy which tested as clear. I had in the past questioned the tiny lump every time I had a smear test done and was always told not to worry..

Wash your hands everyone. Even before you go to the bathroom. Then wash your hands after. It’s hard to get old. Honestly.

I love the straightforward way she's presenting information. Very useful, because sadly, there are still too many women and girls with little or no access to this sort of information.

I discovered the first lump mentioned, when I was a teenager and not one gynecologist could tell me what it was. I am 37 and grateful to have an answer, from a knowledgeable black woman. Thank you

I've had a couple benign vaginal cysts before, usually specifically due to severe stress and I'll get cysts on my forehead at the same time. I have noticed stress even affects hormonal things such as discharge. Never caused pain and went away on its own. This is a reminder to take notice of patterns with your body, it may reveal a lot to you.

Boyyyy I had an infected Bartholin’s cyst/abscess and it was the worst pain of my life. I couldn’t even walk and had to get it lanced/drained twice 😖

I had a bartholin cyst that I actually had to go to the hospital in an ambulance and it burst (after 3 days). It was agony. My vagina blew up. Never want to wish that pain on anyone!💯

I am happy someone is speaking about the sensitive issues addressing the vagina which often seems to be taboo even in this day and time.

Hidradenitis Suppurativa also causes lumps that many may call ingrown hairs or boils. It's a very annoying subdermal inflammatory condition. Some treatments are Humira, Topical creams, gels and hot compresses.

Labia allergic reactions should be discussed too 😭 i started having reaction to always products before they started unscented 100% cotton line. You’re so knowledgeable and kind, we need more docs like you! 😊

I had a large lump that I mentioned to 3 different doctors over 7 years that would actually bleed once in a while. They didn't do or say anything about it and one even tried treating me for parasites! Finally, I went to a 4th doctor and found out it was an HPV wart that had multiplied and I had to have about 15 or more of them burned off by a dermatologist! This made me so mad because these doctors seemed to not even care that I could have gotten cancer because this resulted in a pap that was positive for HPV from this!

There are also sebaceous cysts that develop when oil-producing sebaceous glands of the vulva (external genitalia) become blocked. This will form a lump filled with a yellow-white, greasy material. These are different than Bartolin Gland cysts.

There’s another type of bump that wasn’t mentioned. SKIN TAGS can form on the labia, especially during pregnancy when all sorts of weird things happen.

A few years ago I started developing lumps down there and pimples I believe it's because of premenopause, shaving the area and sometimes plucking hairs on the lumps would help. Since I started taking probiotics designed for women I have noticed a huge improvement. I also take some herbs to balance out progesterone and my estrogen. As well as L-tyrosine

Thanks so much for what you are doing for women by putting this information out there.
I had a bump/lump pop up around my clitoral hood/ Labia minora area a year or so back. It was slightly painful when pressed on, but eventually popped like a cyst. It never grew very large or was a different color than my normal skintone there. From research I presumed it was a gland that had become blocked (had me questioning my cleaning routine), but that was the first and last time such has happened.
