Multiple police officers shot, scene 'still active' | LiveNOW from FOX

"Numerous" law enforcement officers have been shot in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Authorities did not say exactly how many officers were struck by gunfire but multiple victims were transported to hospitals. Heavy police activity could be observed at Atrium Main, the region’s Level 1 trauma center.

Officers from the U.S. Marshals Task Force were conducting a search warrant when they were fired upon, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The active SWAT situation is happening in the 5000 block of Galway Drive.

Mecklenburg County Sheriff is also responding to the shooting.

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper says he's in contact with law enforcement in the Charlotte area and is offering state resources to help.

For those wondering, 3 US Marshals were killed and 5 officers were injured according to an article 😢 The US Marshal Fugitive Task Force were trying to serve a warrant for possession of firearm by a convicted felon. I don't know if the suspect came outside or what but it says as the officers tried to approach the suspect, officers were met with gunfire. They then fired back, and the suspect was killed. Then someone from inside the house began shooting at officers, which led to a standoff. And this tragic ending 😢

I really hope the number of deaths doesn't rise even further than this already awful number

I’ve kept track, literally in the last 8 days, officers have been shot and killed EVERYDAY in those 8 days. Our town in south Texas lost an officer last week to a POS who didn’t want to go to jail, the other officers sent him to hell though.
